Still not too shabby! Worst run I had was when I got dropped into Firebase Goddess, first time on that map. Running a new class on a new map is difficult. You're confused about the class and on top of that you don't know where the enemies are coming from making it frustrating.
Few more runs and I think I got this.

In the mean time keep destroying the Phantoms. Wish I had a class with lash but I don't yet.

You complain about everything!
Oh this character sucks on gold! That gun sucks on gold. And then when they give us something really good you start threads asking Bioware to please nerf it.
Do they have a name for what's wrong with you??? Can you enjoy anything in life without constantly complaining about it?

If you love the class, great. That still doesn't really add anything to the discussion. No one is saying you shouldn't play the class. A game is supposed to be fun, so as long as you are having fun, that's all that matters.
Topping the scoreboard doesn't matter, because you can't account for the lack of skill of other players. And if you had played a different class, you might have done even better.
'Bad' or 'terrible' are very subjective terms. Every single class in this game could solo gold in the hands the the right player, just check youtube. 'Bad' doesn't mean the class can't be played, it just means other classes would do better.
I'm just having a hard time seeing what the PA brings to the table over say, an AA or even a HS.
AA and HS can trigger their own BEs on any target at any range.
PA can trigger them at meh range and only on targets without armor (so no primes, atlases, turrets, ravagers, ect). When the PA does trigger the BEs, they tend to pull the enemies away from the groups, reducing the overall damage done. To trigger the BEs, the PA has to be very close to the target.
I just don't see what the PA gets in return for all these disadvantages. Singularity? Stasis is similar PLUS it works on targets with shields (similar in that both of them are pre castable disable abilities that can stop multiple mobs). As an adept BEs are your bread and butter, its why you play the class, its massive damage over a wide area.
Someone talked about using lash to throw enemies into the void, and while that may be fun its not something I would personally care for. I once played a FBWGG game where someone knocked a geth over the edge, but it didn't die. I could see it when I had hunter mode on, and we couldn't kill it. Ended up having to leave.
Oh well, the class only just came out. Someone could be coming up with a WTFOMG NERF IT build right now.
edit: Arg, why do these forums keep messing up my formatting

The PA rocks. Pure and simple.

The only thing I even care for about the class is the ability to set up Tech Bursts with Smash. Yes, Biotic Explosions are better, but when everyone and their mother is an Engineer/Infiltrator/Soldier, it's got a bit of a niche to it.

I definately don't get how to play the phoenix classes yet, their powers seem to lack synergy to me.
That's my main issue, they really seem to lack synergy, but maybe I'll get used to it eventually, dunno.
Uh, they both set up or detonate and you can go right through a shielded opponent or a wall.... they have total synergy.

The I've been slinging people all over the place with the Adept, using the heavy melee a lot too.
And the Vanguard, is without a doubt my new favorite class.

Actually I will say that having singularity was even more pointless here than the HA; Lash completely outshines it. I can't see why you ever really need Simgularity here.
singularity=>lash works realy good for me but only on guys without shields/barrier/armor. i just got high score on silver spaming that combo but it's true that he's kinda useless against anybody with shield/barrier/armor.
I only use smash on CQC, it works really good on brutes and banshees. Like I said, i've only played on silver so i'm sure the drawbacks this class has makes it really difficult on gold, especially the time it takes to get back into cover when using lash

With a single drell or justicar on your team he is a monster.
And so is a HS, TS, AA, or even a HA.

Smash range also seems to be shorter than that of a pyro's flamthrower...

Biotic charge? Low health and long Smash CD meant this was useless.
Lash people toward me? Felt like a waste of time. If you lash someone from a group, the rest of them will fire at you while you're waiting or meleeing the lashed person.
So I decided to run around, and Smash people from behind or around corner, and I actually did pretty good. And smash can detonate some pretty huge biotic explosion.

Don't have it yet(thanks, store!) but no BEs on armored targets sounds...bad.
Who cares about BE on armored targets? Two to three smashes and they're pulp! Ya gotta be sneaky about it though.

It gets better. You can cancel the second half of lash's animation by using a heavy melee. Lets you WRECK things from behind cover or walls.

Every time people talk about Lash, someone mentions how the final evolution to ignore shields and barriers is amazing, which is probably true. But what about the alternate evolution to extend the detonation window by 100%? Is it worth it but inferior to ignoring 2/3 of the protection types? Or is there some other reason no one seems to opt for it?

Also, lash is what i have always wanted pull to be. Works on shielded targets, and flings, rather than pulls.
^Problem is, lash is VERY strong. It deals a ton of damage and flings enemies a freaking mile away from enemies. The BEs would be wasted most of the time, and being able to throw phantoms/hunters/liutenants is invaluable.
