Cerberus Harrier needs an overhaul already

There are many good and bad things about the Harrier. It does slightly better per-bullet damage than its base model, the Mattock, but since it has a bigger magazine and better RoF it's much better overall. This was a good addition to the list for ultra rare weapons.
But it's crippled by a few other factors: it's heavy, has low ammo capacity, and harsh screen-shaking recoil. Since it's an ultra rare the first two are difficult to improve by unlocking higher levels. It would be easier for everyone if BioWare would just reduce the weight and increase ammo capacity to something reasonable.
Anyone else have thoughts after using it?

Though I agree on the lack of ammo.

Other than that it was fine.

I never found it to have bad screen shake, and its ammo capacity makes up for its high damage dealing. Its probably one of the best ARs in the game, if not the best.
I don't think it needs a buff.

I looked at your multiplayer manifest... you have all rare weapons at X, including the new ones, but your highest ultra rare is 4. The point being that people with any ultra rare at X are less common than flying unicorns.DarkerCompanion wrote...
Its really not that heavy. At level 1, most of my characters run it at 100%. Come level X, it will be just slightly heavier than the Mattock; its multiplier is 1.0. To put this into perspective, the Revenant is 1.25.

That's why I compare a rare level X weapon to ultra rare level 1. Maxing out an ultra rare isn't a practical option.

They aren't going to base the ultra-rare guns around their being level 1. If they did that, then a level 10 Harrier would make for a 200% caster class gun. Its already slated to end up at around 150% at level X on most characters.
Besides; MOST N7s are far worse than this. Start with the Scorpion and we will talk.

I don't get screaming for a nerf just because your level one UR isn't the perfect beast slayer, yet.

[not sure how good it is on infiltrators and compared with sniper rifles but so fare it becomes one of my favourites]
It fires fast enough that you could empty most of a clip during the damage bonus, so its probably good. But at that point, why not use an Indra?
Actually . . . just looked at the stats, and the Harrier seems to invalidate the Indra. Same weight, same rarity. Indra does about HALF the damage and has a slightly lower rate of fire. Has double the ammo capacity, and slightly higher clip size. I would assume Indra is slightly more accurate.
So basically at this point, the Harrier is already better than several established ultra-rares. Those should be worked on first.

GREAT! I have an Achievement I could get if that ever shows up. Make it an ultra-ultra rare that you only get after a quadruple headshot and I'll start after it right away...feral411 wrote...
I guess they should just make it a fully automatic missile launcher that kills everything with one round...

Looking forward to seeing how the new update (xbox 360) effects it as I will start using my thermal clips more to get the damage boost.
Any PC users able to report on if the damage boost from using a thermal clip is noticeable?

What is the ammo clip like with assault rifle magazine upgrade?Atheosis wrote...
Only issue with the Harrier is the absurdly small ammo capacity. In every other way it's the AR we've all been waiting for. If only it weren't an ultra rare. I ****ing hate ultra rares in this game.

As for spare ammo issues, depending on the map you might be able to camp near an ammo box. But hey, it just came out yesterday, they'll probably have it tweaked eventually.
