For some reason Origin will not update ME3. All it does is get stuck at Preparing, or Checking for Updates.

Repairing the installation also does not work. I do have the new DLC, but ME3 will not update from 1.02 to 1.03.

Anyone have this issue?

The reason might be some pointless* PhysX-Update Origin tries to install along with 1.03.
I ended up getting Error-Messages telling me PhysX-Installation failed or that i need to be logged on as administrator (which does obviously not solve the problem) or even just nothing (like you guys).

Managed to get 1.03 and rebellion installed by reinstalling ME3, but those errors still occur every time i start origin, with the result that it sometimes tells me that ME3 is not installed.

*since the game works without it

i really detest game browsers such as origin. steam i still hate but origin is the worst because i have found so many problems with it. steam is easier for me and hasn't been a problem at all. If a browser fails than you can't play your god dam game. it just creates more places for problems

I thought they said patch 1.03 comes out on Thursday.

Edit: Oh, I see that was the release date for consoles.

DON'T UPDATE!

Patch 1.03 fixes nothing and actually introduces whole new problems, be glad you don't have it.

All this kind of stuff makes me worry about doing any type of updating for this game. I'm tempted to just forget the extended cut update and stick with the version I've got because it works. I got the latest Origin update yesterday and held my breath whilst it installed. Based on all the threads kicking round here at the moment about the latest game patch I'm not going anywhere near it.

Well I kinda have to update, because multiplayer is kinda empty. Here is what mine looks like.

As you can see it just stays like that.

I'm gunna go ape ****, I just uninstalled the game hopeing to redownload all 10GB+ of it. Now origin refuses to download it. It looks like BF3, and ME3 download servers are offline.

UPDATE: I can download Battlefield 2, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 just fine. However Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3 will not update or download at all. WTF is going on?

Tried it on 2 different computers. SAME  RESULTS. This is not on my side. This is on EA/Origin's Side.

Found this on another forum - worked for me! Jeez this was a stupid error.

[*]

this error is happening to many users because the Origin is trying to read a file marked as read-only and is failing.

try go to:
Origin Games\\Battlefield 3\\Support\\EA Help\\en-us

Look
for files like "Electronic_Arts_Technical_Support.***"( in special
Electronic_Arts_Technical_Support.glo) is marked as read Only, if marked
remove mark or renamed file

if this does not solve the problem try:

Step 1. Go to folder: “C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs” and delete any existing log files there.
Step 2. Run Origin and Log in and update the BF3.
Step 3. Open the Origin Logs folder once more and collect Origin log files from the folder “C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs”

search for line

"SetError 123" or "error 123state"

and post here the lines written in red letters

Good Luck!

if the problem is Fixed report Result!
Tanks!

Looks like you're the latest victim of a known issue with Origin's use of the Akamai CDN. And by known issue I mean since day 1.

Take a look at the second post in this thread: http://forum.ea.com/...st/7664807.page

I downloaded the patch and it installed (Windows' game explorer shows ME3 as being v1.03). Thing is, if I check for updates now it reinstalls the patch every time, without downloading it again. Not a big issue, but...

This means the patch 1.03 install file is still hanging around on my PC somewhere. If I can find it I can put it online for you guys to download and install.

Any ideas where it might be stored on my PC or what file I should be hunting for?
