Please keep the actual Spoiler out of the title of your post.

So saying:
Spoiler: Darth Vader is Luke's Dad! what?!" is not allowed and the title may be changed.

Saying:
"Luke's father revealed! what?!" Would be just fine.

Thanks everyone.

Well it is the (SPOILERS) forum but it's your call. I don't come here not expecting to see spoilers even in the titles though. I just figured it came with the territory. And on the whole Star Wars thing, I was more creeped out that Leah was Luke's sister seeing as he had the hots for her at one point.

If Star Wars Episode II was published by EA, that scene with Vader cutting off Luke's hand and revealing that he was his father would be a DLC which cost 550 points, downloadable as soon as the movie itself was released. This would be sold by a merchant stationed on the M Falcon at all time with a big yellow ! on top of his head.

I have to agree with Dasim4, this IS a spoiler forum clearly labelled as such. People coming here are not expecting spoilers??? Well whatever floats your boats, just seems a bit silly considering it is labelled "Dragon Age: Origins Gameplay Forum (SPOILERS)".

But then again I suppose the low IQ bracket need to be catered for. I was going to say perhaps it is for the people who can't read then realised I was descending into the low IQ bracket with that comment... :)

Because one cannot post or discuss any spoilers in the General Discussion forum, and some people avoid the Campaign forum altogether because they want to enjoy the story without having it ruined, and come in here specifically to find and discuss character build tips and game mechanics, and don't appreciate discovering that Palpatine is the emperor, that Han Solo can be sacrificed, and that Leia is actually the Queen, while looking for Rogue DPS Calculations.

if only there were some forum function that allowed a user to... i don't know... SEARCH for the exact material they wanted to see without sifting through tons of material they don't want to see. i don't see why the rest of us have to kowtow to some absurd 'no spoilers' culture on a spoilers board just so a few people can save themselves the trouble of filling out a search query.

If you like most people haven't played all origins yet or gotten all possible endings yet but still want to peruse the forums while avoiding alot of the endlessly repeated questions trolling and flame wars going on in the general forum without spoiling the game then this forum is your only bet. Is it so terrible to ask that posters here show some understanding for people in this position and refrain from spoiling too much in the thread title?

I mean when the game's been out 6 months - a year or so it's another story but it's still relatively new.

Yes, it's absolutely too much to ask because I, like most people on a spoilers board, am here to talk about the game without worrying about trivialities like the revelation of plot details to the ignorant. I shouldn't have to think about that here, on a spoiler board, where we're supposed to be able to just talk about things without pissing and moaning about what is a 'spoiler' and what isn't. Case in point: http://social.biowar...66/index/437826 a perfectly normal thread until someone comes in and derails it by pointing out that the title was not spoiler free enough for their delicate sensibilities.

How am I supposed to ask other users for help against flemeth without a subject like 'need help vs. flemeth?' Removing spoilers from post titles limits the ability of users to use this forum for what it's for, communicating, by forcing everyone to use euphemisms or hide all the pertinent information behind the jump where fewer people will see it.

'need help vs. flemeth?'

OMG U haf ruinzz de gam 4 mezzz... u can fites flemeth... spoller in de titlezzz!!!!

Sorry but this rule in the spoiler section of the forums is silly. Cause if you want to, I can go a report almost 80% of the posts in this forum category right now for having some sort of spoiler, like I just pointed out in my example.

It is silly. Is this EA's doing? Smells like it.

The choice to be considerate and understanding of others or not is yours alone; fortunately the choice to not allow spoilers in thread topics isn't.

Dude, seriously, go find your tinfoil hat.

It has nothing to do with EA, it's about respect.

Thread titles are broadcast not just in the forum, but also (most recent posting) are broadcast to the forum index. For that reason, I (moderator with absolutely no ties whatsoever to EA) respectfully ask you to avoid posting spoilers in the thread titles, and if/when you see some, please PM me or another one of the moderators about it.  If you continue to do so after being warned, action will be taken.

Thank you.

Honestly, why is asking people to show consideration like pulling teeth? Have we really sunken this low these days? I blame MTV! J/K =P

Thread Titles show up in my home page in "recent posts". It also shows up in my Forum catagory page. Please people just have a little respect for one another is that to much to ask? Maybe...

I don't think it's so much about not showing consideration as it is about how absurd it seems to not post spoilers on a spoiler forum. And why are spoiler forum thread titles allowed to be broadcast anywhere that would compromise the whole idea behind what this forum is for? Can't threads from this forum be blocked from showing up in that area? I'll definitely comply to the wishes of the moderators but I have to say I've never seen a request like this on any other forum I've frequented.

And it would show as unauthorized 30% of the times forcing you to reinstall it manually.

QFT

Back to the subject, it makes sense though, thread titles being broadcasted/can seen by all, you gotta respect that

At Astorax - Don't worry I wouldnt deliberately break a forum rule, and the whole EA thin was ment as a joke, but obvious came out different to how I thought it would.

Like Dasim4, this is the first spoiler forum (lol) that has this silly rule, that I have visited alot. As for reporting other topics for "spoilers" in a spoiler forum, I wouldnt do that, cause like I said, I think it is pathetic. I chose to visit a spoiler forum, I expect to be seeing spoilers.

Get over yourself.  You're not being disrespeted by being asked to follow a simple rule, the purpose of which was even explained for you.  Also, the "intended purpose" of this forum is defined by the mods who run it, and they have made it pretty clear that posting spoilers in thread titles is not part of its intended purpose.  In no way does not being allowed to post spoilers in thread titles hamper your ability to discuss gameplay issues on this forum, and if you can't think of a non-spoiler title for a thread you want to post then, frankly, you are too stupid to worry about sharing your written opinions anyway.  It's not rocket science to omit specific details about the plot from the title of your thread.

The forum title says (SPOILERS).  My understanding is that this is a warning - THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE.  It certainly doesn't imply a rule like (SPOILERS ALWAYS ALLOWED IN ALL CONTEXTS) or (THERE WILL BE NO RULES REGARDING SPOILERS POSTED HERE).  You have made up your own rules and imagined purpose for this forum based on a single world, and now you act indignant when the very people who run the forum explain that your interpretation is wrong.  Again, get over yourself.  You are clearly objecting just to troll or vent your nerdrage.
