Ok, so after posting this question on the "Official Support" run by EA, it took them 3 weeks to respond with a simple answer to ask on the forums. So I will just paste what I originally asked, and their delayed response. Any help would be appreciated because I've put a good amount of time into the game and would like to finish the story with the character I've created :)

EA Support Question:

=======================
Aloha EA/DA Staff,

First off, I'd like to say that the game is
fantastic and the game play/storyline is excellent - great job on it;
however, I'm stuck in a predicament that I can't get out of. I'm
currently in the Dalish Forest Ruins and was trying to find the key to
the double doors. It's the first door/key combination that I've
encountered in the ruins, so I'm guessing it's the first (and maybe the
only) key door. The problem that I encountered was that on my way down
one of the many hallways I needed to work my way through to get the
key, it teleported me to the room with the ghost woman (without the
key). Upon killing the shades and finding it odd that I got teleported,
I figured it was just part of the game, I decided to save and walk over
to the double doors (the only way out) and low and behold, I get the
message: Key Required. The problem, as you probably already figured
out, is that since I got bug teleported to this room, I don't have the
key to get out of this room.

I've put in over 15 hours into the
game and would love to continue the game, but there's no way out and I
saved over my only manually saved game block. Also, the auto-save
occurred as I walked up to the double doors, so I couldn't reload from
an auto-save either. Any help you could provide would be greatly
appreciated. I'd suggest a anti-stuck/dungeon escape feature or ability
that could be downloaded via a patch from the PS3.

This may also
occur on the other platforms as well, so I'd suggest a baseline patch
release across all platforms. If there is any way that I can help,
please let me know. Please realize that I'm confined to this small
little room, so there may not be much I can actually do. I'll be
actively checking/responding to this support ticket. Thanks in advance
to any help provided.

Mahalo,
Jordan Parsons

you should never only depend on one save .hope someone can help.so your whole group is there with you? well if so this might help its your only hope if everyone is with you.1 set your main char at the doors as close as you can. the best way to do that id face door and walk as far as you can now tap the S key he will just turn around in place if he moves i little bit try again till he ONLY turns around in place.2 click the button follow/hold to the hold position.3move the other members of you group as far away as posssible they dont have to be all to gether like put one where the shades were and the other two on both sides farthest away from your guy by the door. 4 now switch to the one by the door. 5 click the follow button they will be trandported all to the guy by the door .and hopfuly on will be on the other side of door. and just do the same thing run far away and teleport them to you .if it dosent work try again . its your only hope

Thanks for your reply MOTpoetryION,

Unfortunately, I think that only works in the PC version (your reference to the 'S' key made me think that's the version you're talking about), unless you're playing the game from the USB keyboard attachment. Looking at the control options in the PS3 menu, there doesn't seem to be a turn around shortcut for the PS controller so if you could clarify, that'd be great!

As far as doing all the other steps without this turn around option, it didn't work, but I gave it a shot anyways. I look forward to your next response and thanks again for your quick reply.

yes in playing on a pc and just use what ever button to make your guy do a 180 in the same spot because he needs to have the door behind him for it to work because when they get telaported they are placed behind your main char it should work try if a few times maybe even keep 2 of the other ones and put them on either side of your main to not give any room to appear on the side of this door .last idea when following my first post look and see if any that gets transported are closer to the door then yours is if so just try and you that one and do the same thing

See I didn't notice any teleporting happening - The characters are on the opposite side of the room (in the formation that you suggested), when I select follow they just walk over to me instead of being teleported. In fact, I haven't seen any teleportation happening with my party before. I'll keep trying - thanks again for your advice! If you have anymore tips, let me know.

Yes they do tele but depends on distance. With the size of that room they probably would teleport behind the door but I'd suggest moving as a group to the other side first, then disengage and move your PC char to the door and turn.

That is one stupid bug. I actually spent awhile before getting that ritual to work because I didn't pick up the tablet before hand -_-

Oh man, tried this out last night and it worked like a charm. Wow, I'm so glad that I was able to get out of that room and continue my gaming with the character I put so much time into :) Thanks to all of you that helped.

MotpoetryION, thanks for the initial idea and support.

Bagenholt, thanks for the additional advice on the technique. The problem ended up being that I hadn't moved all of them far enough away from my main. Moving them as a group as far as I possibly could at the other end of the room is what really got this to work.
