Does my f*cking screwdirver have a say about where and how I use it?

No.

It is a tool, it has no say, I'm using it, not working with it.

But reapers do have wills....

Not anymore!

Problem?

What the f*ck are you on about?

You say it's vague, that it's open to interpretation, and when someone does that you tell them to 'try again'.

His way of looking at it is perfectly valid.

No it's not. Why? Because he's not the one that decied what it means...The star child does...

Nope.

Yes it is.

There's a difference between using the Reapers to rebuild the galaxy and rebuilding the galaxy alongside them. I find it hard to believe you failde to make that distinction.

it would be the same thing.

No, it is not. One is the manipulation of the Reapers to suit your will, the other is willing collaboration. You do not collaborate with them in control, you control them.

Then tell me what the vague statement"You will die. You will control us but lose everything you have" means.

It means that your physical body dies. You lose the ability to enact with your old life completely. No more friends or Love Interest for you. Instead, you control the Reapers. So, effectively, Shepard's old life is "dead".

Note that this is a vague statment and can mean anything...Try agein...

Vagueness deleted:    Your physical body dies. Your mind is uploaded and becomes the new Catalyst. You will never live your old life again. You can now control the Reapers.

If we were given explicit evidence that the minds of past species were still in Reapers then I'd say it was unethical to destroy them. But we aren't.

It might be ethical to kill them even if they have old minds. Like, putting them out of their misery. Personally, I choose Control only because of the geth. If they were not spared, I would have choosen Destroy.

I see your point.

I had a hard time picking RGB ending on my first play through because I didn't want my hard work going to waste.

I meant if they were trapped in there and had no control over what the Reaper's "body" does. That way these species could be brought back.

But, yes, after up to a billion years in some cases, perhaps they would just want to "sleep".

And, yeah, the Geth being collateral damage really does screw up paragons wanting to destroy the Reapers.

No..It's still vague. The statement has no clear definiton to what it means...What ever is "EVERYTHING YOU HAVE" is never made claer to what it means.  So no, you awnser is not right.

You can collaborat with people and things you control.

By your logic, victim of rape can have sex with the rapist.

"And the Reapers will obey me?"

"Yes." - This is explicit. ie. the opposite of vague.

Cue cutscene of the Reapers leaving Earth, obeying Shepard.

It can't be any more clear than this.

Be logical.
If Shepard literally loses everything he have, he wouldn't be able to control the Reapers. But he would control the reapers, despite the loss. So, technically, even if Shepard loses everything he has, he himself would remain.

You are specifically told you control them. Whether or not you "collaborate" with them, they are still compelled to follow your orders, as opposed to mutual collaboration where they do so out of their own desires. In essence, you're ordering around an army of drones, not working alongside a sentient species.

What is this, I don't even..................

If it's vague and open to interpretation, then yes, his view is perfectly valid.

The serpent, in case you didn't notice, does not explain what it means.

I do in my glorious imagination.

Unless you have something that states otherwise.

But nice job completely dodging the issue.

No, it happens the other way around.

Child:   You will control us, but you will lose everything you have.

Shepard:   But the Reapers will obey me?

Child:   Yes.

Therefore, you can control them (obeying Shepard's will) after "losing everything you have" because Shepard explicitly asks, and the Catalyst explicitly answers (for once).

I am being logical..Nothing is ever stated to what the limit to what everything Shepard  would lose is. That is the problem... Many people have point this out. It's not clear and it could mean anything. Which is he main flaw of contro is...We have no control of what or how much we lose by choosing controil...The same thing happen to TIM. He found a way to control the reapers but lost everything.
Did people who picked control miss this?

I'm sorry ...Where in his statement did he say that you choose what you lose when you pick control? He says you lose everything and never says there is a limit...Yet some how you think you  can say what the things you lose are when you pick control?

That still does not nagate the fact he just told you you'll lose everything you have. So really, no matter what you don't know what losing everything you have means. No indication to what you'll lose is given but everything...

But the Reapers will obey Shepard. Because it explicitly says so AFTER that line.

Because it's evident that Shepard doesn't 'die'.

The Reapers leave, the Citadel closes up with the space-vibrator inside.

What exactly the serpent means is very much open to interpretation, you said that yourself several times.
