Exactly what the title sais. Post your favourite last stand in a video game. Provide videos if possible.

Oh god yes, watching them slowly die as the horde comes and rapes them.

Medieval: Total War, Viking Expansion pack.

I had a squad of vikings that ended up only barely beating an enemy force. The English kept coming at me with army after army and slowly grinding my troops down. In the end, I had seven vikings with maxed out rank, armor, and weapons charging down a forest hillside into two columns of heavy troopers. Both columns broke. My last four vikings started chasing something like 80 guys off the map. It was fantastic. Then the general came with another squad of thirty or so general's guards. The vikings went down, but damn, I still recall that fondly every time I play a Total War game.

Some of the best are the RTS ones where you're in the command and you've got a small squad, back to the wall, facing impossible odds. They know it's the end, you know it's the end, but you fight anyway. To the death!

Most of the above, plus Captian Bannon and his Company at Cascade Falls

As ane edit basically, the US is invaded, the Soviets don't know our MDI program is bust, doesn't work, and that keeps the nukes from flying, apperantly the Russians had a limited MD capability. So Bannon and his tanks are keeping the soviets in place at a town near the SDI research labs, as if the Russians find out its fake they will launch and the war is over. So he holds the soviets in place and the Airforce uses his radio to home a nuke down on him. Plus he's outnumbered 20-1.

Halo Reach easily. That game had a lot of flaws but that part of the game was very memorable.

Medal of Honor had a great 'Last Stand' section too.  The music and intensity was very moving.

The video I linked above is good but the song in it sucks.  It's not the actual song that plays.  Here's the real song which is more moving All Rounds Expended - Ramin Djawadi

Aye. Throughout the game Bannon is depicted as a **** (although one of the phonecalls in one of the cutscenes was 'softening') and he redeems himself in one ****ing stroke.

Halo Reach remains the best though. The sense of being the only one left was truly there.

Also to nobels credit, the Sanghelli basically went "screw honor, hold him down so I can stab him!" Which was a rather humorus touch for fans who read into the lore.

This, although I was severely pissed that I couldn't give Ross a bullet in the face as a going away present.

No one wants to play as Jack.

Ugh, that made me get rid of the game...that voice....

But yeah if they make another one I bet it'll be set in WW1 as his son given the timeline.

That was exactly what I hated about him.
The first time I heard "I'M JOHN MARSTON'S BOY!!111!11!" I had to hold my ears because the TV was up fairly loud, and it sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

I thought the Battle for Helm's Deep in The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers game was pretty good. I remember trying to make that battle last as long as possible because it was so much fun.

Other than that, I do remember playing Medieval II: Total War America's Campaign. I was playing an Aztec army of Cuahchiqueh, Arrow Warriors, Archers, and one unit of Coyote Priest against an army of Spanish. We were besieged, and the thing said we were like 1 to 20 against the Spanish. My men set up good defensive positions to outflank the Spanish once they opened the gates. Pretty tough battle, but they pulled through with severe losses. The whole time, I was thinking we would lose up until we captured their general and the tide of battle changed.

I wish I could still play the game, but turns out that Direct2Drive got bought out by Gamefly. I didn't even know, and my game says I have to re-enter the code--can't anymore, thanks a lot Gamefly. Now I know to make back-up copies and back-up codes for any game I download.

^This, in addition to the Red Dead and Halo Reach nominations. All three were very well-handled.
