I was wondering why my health drains faster than anyone elses on my team.  I am a warrior and always upgrade my constitution, it is higher than anyone elses, and I am still always the first to go, even when the attack is targeted at more than one teammate.  Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks.

I'm assuming you're tanking?

If so, make sure you get the 2nd row in the shield talents. Shield wall can help immensely to prevent dmg. The 3rd row is also very good for tanking. The 1st row isn't all that hot... mostly dps and some minor cc, but mages can help w/ the cc and shield tank dps sucks anyway.

Also, don't forget to take pots and heal w/ a mage.

Lastly, remember that most fights can be broken down into several smaller fights by pulling, cornering, using cc, or using terrain.

The other thing is that each point in Consititution only adds 5 to HP each time. Judging between Con and Dex, according to other players, it is more worth to get Dex because higher Dex means higher chance of avoiding. If your tank is surrounded, with lesser Dex he is sure to get hit and it wouldn't take long for each enemy to drain away that additional 150-200 HP that you added with points to Con.

Tanking??? I dont know, I am using the sword and shield, and most of those are upgraded, I also have several of the shield sustained talents I use. Dexterity is pretty high also. But i will try adding more to dexterity than constitution. Thanks.

Tanking = being the person in your party who absorbs most of the dmg so the others don't have to.  So, you're tanking if you have threaten on, and are taunting enemies when they start attacking other companions.  Tanking is important b/c some characters just don't have a lot of health and need to be protected.  Though there are exceptions, mages are typically called "glass cannons" b/c they can dish out a lot of dps, but get killed easily.  Thus, you need a tank to keep enemies from smacking your mages around.

Since you don't know what tanking is, I'll clear up the other jargon I used in my first post:

cc = crowd control.  Stuff that removes an enemy from combat.  An example of this is the mage spell force field.

pulling = attacking an enemy at range so he comes to you.

cornering = using a corner to get ranged enemies to come to you (they can't see you, so they run to you).

los = line of sight.  using terrain typically envolves using los to get enemies to chase you.  Cornering is an example of using los to draw ranged enemies.

dps = damage per second.  Refers to how much dmg a character can output.

Some other terms that you'd be well off knowing:

dot = damage over time.  Curse of mortality is an example.

hot = heal over time.  Regeneration is an example.

Are you carrying any persistent injuries? They can reduce your health regen rate, your maximum health, your constitution, your dexterity, or your defense. Any of those would contribute to your problem.

It depends on what sort of character you are making... as for warrior I would say the only real tank is the Shield/Weapon combo.... what can you do from here.. you goal is to sustain damage and attract enemies while your team finishes them off basically.

Taunt as a valueable to skill, threathen active is a good thing as well also use strategies as shown above so nicely, remember to go full plate armor or the likes... other usefull skill lines having is Champion and reaver.

Other Crowd control to hold the damage can be done by DPS classes such as Rogue or archers... hold them down, if you can stun a couple of targets do such... and focus on getting one down one at a time.

If you want to head in head on head with stuff directly then the two handed and dual handed line is a poor choice since I rate those as DPS only personally and counting them as poor tanks, though they have some CC skills it is more for there to prevent getting them overwhelmed untill the tank can take over the agro... just my five cents to the debate.

Well, thats pretty easy. If you wear heavy or massive armor, you attract attacks. Therefore the opponents will focus on you. Therefore you're the first one to go down.

However, its good that opponents focus on you, because you are wearing heavy or massive armor and therefore you wont get hit as hard as other members of your group.

About better defense, Shield Wall FTW and as much Dex as you can muster. I never ever raised Con except on Blood Mages.
