Is the Client Extender compatible with the Community Patch (1.70)?

Sure, no reason to believe it's not. Actually community patch contains even iprp_vfx.2da compatible with Amethyst Dragon's new VFXes.

My project should be compatible with everything (in the sense it won't break custom content) with the exception that not every features from Patch might work correctly until 2DA/scripts are merged.

The client extender is a hack of the executable, isn't it? I thought that the community patch was also a client-hack...

Based on what I read, I was under the impression both modified the NWN executable(s), as well as added or modified other files.

Clarification?

Clarification: NWN community patch isnt client-hack itself and neither it contains one. Its patch as any former official was using *.bif files in data folder. BIF is basically a hak with the difference that its loaded first and anything in override, module and hak has higher priority and will overwrite patch data.

Oh, good to hear. Thank you!

I had assumed that the 'official' patches contained modifications to the executables, and so by proxy, that the community patch did too. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Oh yes, I forgot that, official patches indeed changed executables and I cosidered this too before 1.70 initial release (borrowing stuff from HG client like icon limit) but on advice of many I gave this feature up. Its against EULA etc. etc.

So I was wrong for all the right reasons =D

I will probably be updating to 1.70 then. I have been reluctant to mess with it because of my assumptions. Thanks again for the clarification.
