I understand in open many Sandbox games you can not have them since some people will go out there way to kill them and that would just be a heck of a lot of a bad press. However in a game like this it seems that there should have been some . I think that is one reason why some people did not care about Vent boy. This was the first kid we ever saw.. so it seems (sorry to say) to kill him off .

Conservation of detail- Kids aren't important to the plot in most cases, so you never see them.

They just get in the way. :)

I have heard a baby crying in the E-24 Docking Bay Refugee Camp. (Listen to the peripheral sounds.)

This made it more obvious that the children are missing.

Then, there's the teenager waiting for her parents with a Turian trying to look after her. She looks as old as Traynor or Chambers and not some kid who would have trouble taking care of herself and worried about her parents.

This also made it more obvious that children are missing.

No. I don't want to see kids get shredded. I also can excuse this for the sake of development, too. I just wish that they didn't imply that there were children and not see them.

(As the old adage goes: Children should be seen and not heard. While I'm not one to agree with that completely, hearing them and not seeing them is another matter altogether.)

EDIT: The kids at the Grissom Academy looks as old as Donnely and Daniels. Just another thing that made me realize that children are missing from the game.

Resources.

More character models=take time=time=money.... same goes for female aliens. So there's artistic integrity, for ya.

When they said kids ... I was thinking like in terms of a college kids. Since those at the Academy look old as heck.

I didn't think kids existed in the ME universe. It isn't that strange really, I don't really see kids around much IRL. I tend to be out and about when their in school and I think they spend most of their time indoors now anyway. If there are kids about I can't say I notice them, I don't even recall the last time I seen one.

Maybe Shep just doesn't notice kids so the game edits them out. Fat people are also invisible to Shepard so they aren't in the game either.

@Ghost_Nappa not Mass Effect, Shepard. We see the galaxy from Shepard's PoV and Shepard ignores kids, fatties and ugos when there are plenty of lovely blue aliens and skantily clad women to oggle instead. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
