Wow. So... you mean that some people really like cloaks?DragonAgeNeedsCapesOrCloaks wrote...
i posted this in an attempt to get responses and maybe support from those who may agree with me so hopefully in a perfect world bioware will get the idea and put them in the game.
We had no idea.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. If we had only known that there were people out there who think cloaks are neat, we might have added them onto the pile sooner. Our bad.
Yes, love cloaks!! I hope to see them in the next game or DLC's or even a patch.

I h8 people. Dragon Age has 99% good stuff and 1% bad stuff and people can't stop with pointless hate(some call it "constructive criticism") about that 1% ...
Think about it. We pay money for games. The company (bioware) makes the games for us and include things in the games that people would want. Apparently alot of people including myself like having cloaks in fantasy rpg games. We are part of the consumer base and are requesting that bioware includes this feature. Thats just called basic consumer rights. We pay for it so we want to get the best bang for our buck. Its as simple as that. If you don't agree then you shouldn't find it too hard to ignore this thread. Posting "hate" as you call it on a thread that you don't agree with over and over again for the sake of disagreement is being a troll...
I understand what you're saying... But it annoys me when I see 14 pages of "me want cloaks" posts... While I like cloaks I don't whine about them cause I'm aware that people in bioware know that their customers want cloaks, therefore I assumed they didn't have the time to make them properly. And I was right. And I was right even without ranting 14 pages...
And about the customer's rights... I don't give a **** about them, seriously. If 60+ hours of fun and mature roleplay wasn't good enough for 50 bucks or something for you, then go and drown yourself in your bathtub... x)

Because that's exactly how game development works. They take advice from an Internet forum where a tiny percent of their users wander in to either complain, defend or discuss the game and implement it into the game and voila, it's a major success. The forums thusly represent the greater interest.DragonAgeNeedsCapesOrCloaks wrote...

I don't know how your maths are, but have you calculated how little worth your input is? You pay maybe $50 for a game. A game developed costs around $1 million to make. They can make up to $10 million to produce.
Your purse didn't even contribute 0,01‰. How can you defend that kind of point of view?

He's a cylon! I should've known! He's the secret Sixth! No wonder Mass Effect 2 has a couple of them in the cast!!!

You know, the guy who wears undershirts, underpants, shirt, trouser, boots, robe, helmet, visor, gorget, pauldron, besagew, breastplate, couter, gauntlet, tasset, cuisses, poleyns, greaves, sabbatons, 8 rings, 4 earrings, 2 noserings, 7 tattoos, 3 amulets, 2 cloaks - all magical.
And if its a multiplayer, EVERY character looks like this.
Thats why, personally, I think there should be simply a limit on the count of magic items one can wear. If you cannot, for example, wear more than 5 magic items, no matter what their type is, the christmas tree adventurer is avoided.

* I've only read The Stolen Throne, and found the characters and story to be excellent, but it was all so rushed towards the end. Did you have a page limit that EA forced you to work within to save money on paper costs, or was it because of some misguided exec's opinion on your target audiences attention span?

God no, especially after what they've done to mage headgear. Can you even imagine what we'd end up with?
LOL thats true. dunno what they were thinking when the made the mage headgear. im sure they were all drunk and just went lets see how funny we can make mages look
on that note though. i also believe cloaks are important for character fashion. and if it is so hard to do the animation for the warriors, make it and mage only thing or mage and rogue thing.
or even better, how about making it an item that is only visible when not in combat?

I LOVE how people say this to the devs... but what about the THOUSANDS of ****s that treat the devs like crap? Turn about is fair play imo.

May I suggest Mr Gaider that you concentrate on doing something constructive, like fleshing out your books*, rather than coming on here and trying to be a sarcastic smart***? Besides giving you a temporary feeling of self satisfaction, what purpose do your arrogant posts serve exactly? They certainly do no credit to yourself or your employer.

I never knew that writing a fantasy novel and having it published was a pre-requisite for having an opinion on one.
Have you given any opinion on the Dragon Age game on these boards? If so, using your logic, where is your published fantasy RPG?
Incidentally, have you read The Stolen Throne? Did you feel the pace and descriptiveness of the writing at the end of the book matched that of the beginning and middle sections?

Maybe this (shame on me) pointless post will tip it on to page 15.

Perhaps a poll?
Of course, the poll must not contain leading questions or biased language of any form. That would be worse than useless, as it would not tell us anything specific about (feature). I therefore suggest the following simple and neutral form of wording:
Do you want to see (feature) in Dragon Age?
[_] Yes
[_] No
That should provide a definitive answer as to whether / how people think about (feature).
