you say 13 min and 15K for bronze Vs 26 min and 33K on silver - according to those numbers a silver game will make you a little more than 2 bronze games will (and it takes the same gaming time), and you cut down by half the time you waste searching for games and in lobbies.
To me at least, the rate in which i fail silver matches is negligible, so the only real question is how many medigels and rockets are wasted for you every silver match and how many you replenish when buying packs - also it's important to keep in mind that these things are there to be used! there is no gain from hoarding them and no penalty for running out of them.

Mhm...no penalty for running out of them, you say? So I can safely start a silver match with 0 medigel and 0 rockets? :D

Because that's what was happening...I was down to 5 medigel and 2 rockets. Not in the map-inventory...in my overall inventory. 5 and 2, all that's left. I started with somewhere over 30 for both...

It was the logical outcome of too many lost silver games. I used those, often lost before wave 9 or 10, got less money and xp than I would've gotten from bronze games, thus making it harder to buy up on my consumables. Less consumables, the harder it get's. A vicious circle.

Then I started bronze games again, compared the outcome and wrote this topic. :)

If you find yourself running out of medigel all the time on silver try out defensive justicar and you should be able to get a stock pile going again.

Defensive justicar? Is that a class. Mhm...I've not yet unlocked it I'm afraid. Will try once I get the chance, so thanks for the tipp. :)

For now I will rely on bronze matches to fill my stock, until it reaches a healthy volume again.

In an hours time I earn as much credits (and even more experience on bronze, as it seems) in both kinds of games. But for me personally there are several advantages I get by chosing bronze over silver:

  • The chance of beating a public bronze map is - for me - considerably higher than beating a silver map
  • A lost silver match (or two...three in a row) is not only frustrating, it also lowers the above values considerably.
  • I kept wasting equipment in silver matches (winning or not) to the point where I hardly got any missles / medipacks left.
  • This in turn forced me to conserve on these consumables and this in turn made silver matches even harder.

Hey, this guy just summed why I keep playing bronze for packs.

If you decided already you are going to play bronze, why did you even post the question?
If you buy only SP & PSP with your credits you might just find yourself in short supply of medigel,OPS & rockets - that's what equipment packs are for, instead of one PSP get three of those bad boys and you'll be fine and dandy for a while.
If your only enjoyment of the game is to earn credits and improving you manifest then maybe you should find a different game cause this one is obviously wasting your time. If credits were my goal i would have grinded FBWGG all day and night, but i want to enjoy the gameplay as well - and (for me) silver is usually the right amount of challenge to keep it fun, to earn a reasonable reward and not being overly stressed from a video game.

I was under the impression you were asking people what they think, when in fact you were just stating out loud that you are going to play bronze from now on...So there was no question, my bad...

Hehe, well I was hoping it would be a little more than just a statement. ;)

It was more meant as a means to help players decide whether to play bronze or silver. Like I said, it was not just me losing silver. It's a team effort, so everyone lost.

The topic was adressed to those who feel compelled to play silver for the credits and the xp, but keep failing because it's too hard for their skills. Like...me. *g*

I was telling them there is no reason to play silver for that reasons. Play silver if you want the challenge and are sure to meet it successfully. And if you don't play bronze.

After many more multiplayer matches I feel like I have to correct my own numbers. Bronze matches does not give around 180.000xp regularly. Actually it turns out to be quite the exception. Normally it's somewhere around 110.000 to 130.000, with a minimum of just 100.000 sometimes.

Silver matches on the other hand often start at 180.000 and can go right up to 270.000xp.

It really depends how good the players are, how much points they can accumulate. The only thing that's REALLY consinstent is the money. Around 15.000 for bronze, 30.000 for gold. And the times are also about right.

So if you're not farming for xp there are almost no disadvantages playing bronze rather than silver.
