So I'm going on day 3 of no sleep. I had my last final today. My final final. heh School is over for the semester! WooT! But I refuse to sleep. I finally have time to immerse myself eyeballs deep into Dragon Age. However, I'm having to take a break because it's do the taking 5 mins to load every scene thing again... *le sigh*

Sounds like a better idea than my current occupation: Sitting here and staring blankly at the computer screen...

Do what Monstruo said. I have gone with minimal sleep when I studied for exams, but have caught up with them afterwards. Trust me, you don't want to find out what happens if you go 5 or 6 days without sleep. unless you are an insomniac.

Don't fall asleep at the keyboard. Not the best way to wake up, really.

As for last night, I CRASHED! 14 hours of sleep later and here I am, refreshed. lol

I remember going through training for the Royal Air Force, I slept two hours a night for a month, I was addicted to caffiene pills by the end, terrible shakes and it affects your vision too.

The moral of the story is eat your sleep and get a good nights greens.

Or something.

*Dangles a shiny object in front of everyone* :wizard:

"Sleep is your friend... sleep is good... you're getting sleepy" -_-

Also... why does everyone throw getting a decent amount sleep during finals out the window?  Better to have a rested brain instead of a tired brain thats crammed full of stuff at the last minute so it's constantly leaking back out

*Edit: Well, thinking about it more, I guess it depends more on the class than the student actually.  classes that force you to memorize stuff for no real reason force the issue in my humble opinion (glares at non-physics/math courses).*

I plan to be a social worker and then a psychologist. I see no real reason to apply anything aside from basic math in either of those 2 occupations. Stupid college. Why not go to an extra year or so of highschool and then learn only occupation related classes in college? That makes more sense to me.

I've always found it funny that they believe those of us studying humanities will actually find a use for trigonometry or some such math subject.

On the subject of sleep...I love sleeping. Though I often deprive myself of it. And, it's so hard to even think when I haven't sleep for 3+ days.

You will be a more well-rounded individual for having experienced a variety of educational disciplines.

Why would you do this? I can maybe understand staying up late, but not getting any sleep for that long? Don't you know your performance suffers regardless of what you do if you don't sleep?

@ Ashedman

While that may be true, I don't really think it's necessary to take another math class after having took Algebra I+II in high school. I'd rather focus on my studies that will actually have some use in my future career. I'm a literary freak, so I'm sure I'm biased concerning that though.

@ Panderfringe

To be honest I don't know why I tend to stay up for a few days at a time. I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep at times, coupled with my sometimes tendency to stay out at night with friends until dawn doesn't help. It's a bunch of things, really.

Edit:

Wow...spelling fail.

Have you ever stayed up for multiple days straight until the hallucination begins? That's usually around day 4 for me. Much fun! Sleep deprivation - best drug ever!

yeah day 4 is when i start hearing and reliving things.... day 6 is when i start hallucinating and then around day 7 i colapse and well it aint pretty. having said that 7 days with NO sleep and NO caffine tablets/redbulls/energy drink... just pure willpower and stubborness is a fairly big ask.

Going for that long without sleeping isn't good for your health.
