What's the point of using a sniper rifle that is not only less accurate than the rest, but also requires you to charge your shots to get max damage, if it can't score a critical hit on Banshees, Brutes, Primes, etc... Headshots are always critical shots no matter what shooting game you play.  I mean come on, a ****ing harpoon in the head would kill anything.

The gun was perfectly balanced.  It's not like any ****** could use it and mow everything down unlike some of the new guns.  Now all you have is a sniper rifle that is slower, less accurate than the rest.

i agree, the 300% headshot thing is mostly pointless.
Everything dies to body shots since sniper rifles just hit for that much damage already.

Agreed, the Kishok was very unique in that - rather than the traditional method of balancing slight flaws with moderate strengths - it balanced horrendous flaws with enormous strengths. Bioware just removed much of its tremendous strength, leaving it a weapon with horrendous flaws and few redeeming qualities.

Without the ability to headshot Primes, Banshees & Brutes, it is now exclusively a weapon for Stasis sniping against Cerberus. Infiltrators don't need the headshot bonus damage and the ability to bypass shieldgate is little compensation for the weapon's other shortcomings.

It's still great vs. Phantoms.

Totally agree. Nice niche gun nerfed needlessly.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it garbage. Maybe if you qualify "garbage" by adding "for almost all of the classes when used against two of the three enemies and on certain maps and if you're not hosting". It still rocks for Stasis sniping Cerberus as host. It's just garbage at everything else.

I'd sign this petition or vote "yes" if there were a poll.

Part of the problem is that they removed the ability to head some enemies period, like the prime. While the kishok may have taken the brunt, it wasn't the only one. But considering how few people actually were able to use this well there was no need to nerf it(I never got good at using it).

It's bad enough that the projectile is affected by your ping with the host and it's not like we can select a game with low ping. Sometimes you enter the battle only to find out that the harpoon shoots out a second or two after releasing the trigger.

Now you've got people rampaging with the Reegar Carbine mowing everything down. If you're a smart enough player that can maneuver around from cover to cover and fight at close range the Reegar Carbine is just massively OP. Sometimes you don't even need cover... in 1 clip I can completely drain a Banshee's shield, 3 clips I can down a brute... 1 clip for a ravager...

The Kishock requires perfect timing to take out bigger targets like Banshees. Now we will have to resort to rockets again which totally kills the fun :/

They should have removed the ability to HS the Prime. They should have let the Kishok retain the ability to HS the Prime - along with the Banshee, Brute, etc. That was its thing. It gets bonus HS damage and can HS things that can't normally be HS. It made up for its shortcomings against Reapers, the bonus HS damage against Primes made up for its average performance against other Geth, and its ability to mow down most Cerb troops made up for its uselessness against Atlas.

Now it's just...useless against almost everything.

I haven't been playing ME3 that much since Resurgence came out. Just came back for Rebellion. What happened to the Kishock?

Basically they've taken away the ability to score a critical hit on Banshees, Brutes and Primes when you headshot them.  It was what you could call the Kishock's only redeeming feature among its many flaws.  Now it totally sucks.

The Kishock could previously headshot @ 3x damage mobs that were otherwise immune to headshots (aka critical hits) by ALL other weapons.  Primes, banshees, brutes, ravagers.

I want my Kishok back. It's utterly pointless to use now, especially with snipers like the BW, Valiant and the krysae.

It went from a high skill, high payoff murderpoon to a weapon that competes with the javelin and widow in damage and is lighter but is affected by lag and most people can't hit heads with it as easily as with the javelin and widow.

Forgive me if my ignorance shows here, but doesn't it still ignore the shield gate?

Yes, it still ignores the shield gate, but when most enemies can be OSOK'd by a power+shot anyways the hit-scan weapons are just easier to use. With no headshots against "boss" mobs the Kishok only has an advantage over other weapons if you can reload cancel perfectly to get 3 shots off under cloak and stack its bleed. Then it *barely* does more damage than reload-canceling the other snipers. Definitely not worth the skill requirement.

And it no longer has any use for any of the other classes - it's just too difficult to use to justify it over, say, the viper or valiant if you're looking for a lightweight sniper.

Oh, and also /signed. The Kishok didn't really have a huge advantage being able to headshot boss mobs, it was only about as powerful as a BE specialist. With such a high skill requirement, it would have made more sense to make BEs harder or weaker than to nerf the Kishok's biggest draw.

RIP Kishok.

The fact it's part of an actual 'patch' and not just some hot fix says the change is here to stay.

I am raging already.  Bioware probably won't listen unless all the Kishock users protest.  Truthfully, I agree with you, the change is here to stay.  It just made playing MP far less interesting for me.

RIP Kishock :(

When did they change the Kishok? I've noticed it isn't as effective as it used to be.

It came with the patch.  Details are here
http://social.biowar...12276459-1.html

The specific change is this:
-Fixed the Kishock Sniper Rifle that would hit head bone (critical hit) on enemies that should not be possible, such as the Brute, Banshee and Ravager

Yeah, I had reason to use it over my Black Widow before, but now....
