That would actually make it even more of a Geth Infiltrator buff than it already is.


I meant kind of like how the Jav gained more dam in exchange for more weight, and unfortunately due to my cloak cooldown glitch that i swear no-one else has.. it would probably make it unusable for me.

As much as I agree with this post there is no way in hell Bioware will retcon this weapon into an assault rifle after all the work that went into creating it. It's just easier for them to rectify a mistake like this one with the nerfbat.

As much as I love the current Krysae, and as much as I hate nerf herding, I love your suggested change, Grimy. I think of it less as a nerf and more of a fix. I really hope they don't just beat the sh*t out of its stats, like they did to the Falcon, but rather follow your advice and change it to an assault rifle, with maybe a removal of the proximity explosion. Today I was able to kill a Phantom I couldn't even see in one mag on Gold. That is just over the top, and again, I HATE nerfs.

Unfortunately, I fear they'll just kill it, Falcon style.

surprisingly its not that good on maps where infiltrators usually dominate like condor, dagger. instead its good on maps where they dont usually. its especially crap on dagger since if you try to use the snipers nest, as ive just found out, you cant LoS using hull-down good as the projectiles like to explode in front of you, unlike with a traditional sniper rifle so need to stick your entire body out and wear hits if you want to snipe from there. thats extremely annoying. its not that great against elites also, which snipers traditionally are, sucks against guardians (though it can kill them by aiming at legs or about the shield by a fair bit) and excels against phantoms and units in close proximity. it has terribly slow shots that dont require precise aiming and youll find yourself being kill-robbed by snipers with fasting firing-faster moving projectiles. so its almost everything a sniper rifle isnt. but I like it to stay where it is. theres already 2 aoe assault rifles and we dont need another. its highly unique and easy to operate. it seems to have severe problems with shields and as such sucks against an atlas but eats everything else up (excluding guardians). if you move into the assault rifle tree I wont use it, simple as that.

^ you just need some lead. You can kill stuff without hitting, as long as the projectile pass by close enough. And it can force enemies out of cover by shooting above their heads and still damage them, that's also how you kill guardians, shoot on their side, not their shield. No need for penetration.

Please, stop those threads... If OP doesn't like it - no one is forcing him to use it. It's fun weapon to play. Get it? FUN? PLAY?

I would say - Bioware, please add Platinum difficulty exclusively for people saying NERF EVERYTHING! It's getting annoying. There is no secret that good team can do the gold on most maps under 20 minutes not using this weapon.

BTW: it's power is still situational - vs Atlas BW/W is still superior. Phantoms? GPS/Reegar or any other good shotgun. Banshee? Adepts will tell you something about it. Ravager? As Krysae ammo is airburst you have to think quick how much above ravager you have to shoot to not get early detonation on swarmers...

It's AOE is so small you have to have really tight group of mobs to benefit from it. And infiltrator class is doing exactly what it's designed for - dealing damage.

yep. I found that out also. but even though you can kill guardians with a proximity shot its just as difficult as trying to pin-point a shot through the front eyehole. 

anyone notice that shields takes ages to recharge now. its unbelievable. so there a lot more risk poking your head out of cover with a multishoot rifle, and also ED is that much more powerful.

That's just the the thing.  Properly designed nerfs ARE elegant fixes.  They are not separate things.  Nerfs are not a bad thing, so long as they are well thought out.  And Grimy's is an elegant fix.

You do know what the problem with that is, right? Not everyone plays gold as it is and will continue to use any weapon that is clearly overpowered on bronze, silver, and even gold currently. That's not balancing in the least and isn't a cure for this rifles output when used by an infiltrator.

A better solution would be to scale by difficulty level but I can imagine that being a monumental task and unlikely to be implemented any time if ever.

So what exactly is your unpoint here? It doesn't change the fact that the weapon is still overpowered on bronze and silver.

Seems like a lot of people on BSN just b*tch and moan about stuff they don't like. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is broken. And even if it is, why don't you ask for items to be buffed so they are viable, there are many weapons in this game the are pretty much pointless. I'm sorry but all the posts constantly asking for nerfs is just ridiculous. Most matches I have played with people using the Krysae, they rarely do well enough to make it seem OP.

I think anyone who wants it nerfed really hasn't used it objectively. It makes a big boom and sprays gibbs everywhere. After that, it's just not that dominant. It fires much too slowly and the damage it deals is inconsistant versus armor and shields. Granted, I was using it on a Human Soldier. But, the AR damage bonus is nearly as good as the TC bonus and is persistent into he second and third shots.

On the other hand, I can see that people will figure out very quickly how to maximize the gun's potential. It might actually be more powerful than the devs intended after players get through figuring it out. But, they should look at the statistical feedback to work that out and ignore the nerf-baitors.

Oh please. There are tons of weapons that are "overpowered" for bronze. Once a new player gets used to the multiplayer and finds his/her groove, bronze is going to be easy.

I don't get what I'm doing so wrong. I usually do quite well in gold with my infiltrator and valiant. I kept hearing about how "overpowered" the krysae is and got excited when I finally unlock it. I always come in dead last with it, sometimes it seems to do little to no damage and most games I just get frustrated and switch to my pistol. Is there somekind of special technique I should be using?

Not a fan of nerfs in general but this weapon was classed incorrectly and the OP indicates as much. Go back and re-read that to see what the intent was here. It's not so much asking for a nerf as it is to be reclassified into something else which it should have been from the start.

Making such a change would not relagate this weapon to the scrap heap. In fact, it would probably benefit other AR based classes better than a single class of characters. Why is that a bad thing?
