It only took 13 months to make DA2. This game is coming out next week and there's no info on it. :(

I know exactly what the joke is, but I somehow still don't get it.

apparently the hypothetical 'dragon age III' has not been in production yet.
It will be announced once they got funds from EA and started to make the game.

It's been in production since DA2 launched. When do you think they made the character and armor concepts that they showed off?

They are taking their time with it which should make most people happy. I am not expecting a DA 3 until 2013 or 2014.

i heard it was delayed due to some of the staff being temporarily moved to another project, but I'm not sure how valid this is.

It's 1 AM. It'd be better for you to chastise me for not going to bed!

Dental hygiene *is* important.

Actually, it took 10.

Thankfully, I am above making snide remarks such as "and it shows".

...

I just did it, didn't I? Drat.

Let them take their time with it. As they're fond to say, they'll come to us when they have something solid to show. We can infer they're embarked in a new project. They've stated several times they will show up with things to say when they can back up their words with facts.

We pretty much know they are developing DA3 at the moment. It's at least in the preliminary stages, perhaps a little further along than that.

They aren't going to make an official announcement about it just yet, not after the ME3 bruhaha. I mean it's still on going, so of course they are gonna keep quiet cos at the moment fans are just going to pick any announcement apart for "LIES!"

The only Dragon Age related announcement they made recently was when they used the ME3 debacle to sneak out the "we aren't doing the DA2 expansion anymore" thing... And that has pretty much slipped by unnoticed in the wake of ME3's ending controversy.

Also.

I say this often but it bears repeating.

Bioware's Marketing and PR department sucks. They never seem to have a clue about what they are doing. What to say, how to say it, or when to say it.
The only person related to Bioware's "front image" that seems to have a clue about PR is Jessica Merizan (she is awesome btw. If there was a fan club i'd so be in it), and she isn't Marketing. She is Community Management.

I learned a new word recently that describes Bioware's marketing dept wonderfully. Omnishambles. And that is also something that bears repeating, ad nauseaum.

Because they don't want to announce it yet. It'll be ready to show when it's ready to show, and not before. We know everybody's working hard on something, and time will tell whether The Next Thing is technically DA3 or not, but trust them to announce it when they're ready to announce it.

Also, on a purely practical marketing level, ME3 has the spotlight at the moment and has done for about the last six months. Even if DA3 *was* at a point where it was ready to be announced and shown off at any point during this time, it's a wise move to let ME3 have its time in the limelight lest one marketing campaign divert attention from the other.

10 or 13 months, it really doesn't matter, as it seemed clear that they did not have enough time. Hopefully they will not make any announcements of a release, until they are close enough to being finished, that there will be no rushed deadlines in an attempt to get the game on the shelves. People that like Bioware games, particularly the DA series, will buy it regardless of when they announce it. People that never heard of the games before, only need a few months of media advertising to get them to purchase it, to try it out. So ideally, they would wait with the Official Release Date Announcement, for when they are just polishing up the finished product, 3 to 6 months from release.

Wasn't this forum up and running just eight months after Origins was released?

It'll sure be nice just to go to the DAIII forum and avoid all the gloom and despair DAII posts.

I read somewhere that official announcement start 6 months before release , don't know if it's true..
There's also a rumor DA3 may be pushed to 2014 ...
I guess all we have right now is reading crystal ball or coffee ground.

Hope the next marketing does not use the word "awesome" in it.
