It just seems curious to me     as much as I like her is there some reason shes the only one through all 3 games who can never die once, while other characters can die, in some cases at 2 different points?

Okay, why can Liara not die until the very end of the trilogy, and then only in the "everybody dies" scenario? We all know what OP meant, there's no need to argue over semantics.

If everything after the beam doesn't count, EDI, Javik and James are in the I-can't-die -group too. But I agree, Liara's plotarmor is too resilient.

youre simply wrong   in fact, if you bring liara with you into th beam shell just magically appear on the normandy afterwards,so........no

The only real reason for this is she wasn't a squaddie in 2. Garrus can't die at any point in ME3 other than the beam as well.

wrex can die on virmire and then in me 3 if you betray him
ashley and kaidan can die on virmire and then during citadel coup
garrus can die during me 2 suicide mission
tali can die during me 2 suicode mission and then in me 3 on rannoch

me 2 squad:
ALL can die during suicide mission, ALL can die if not loyal in me 3 one way or another

I'm fine with BioWare wanting to ensure that one of our past squadmates was a guaranteed constant. My problem lies with the fact that the amount of focus, and the manner of said focus, put on her borders on ridiculous.
The funny thing is, as the Shadow Broker she should have been more focused on than the other squadmates, but the plot just focuses on everything other than her importance as the SB. As a result, she just comes across as a writer's pet.
This is coming from someone for whose canon Shep Liara is an LI.

I think he's talking about a full bad ending, complete with bodies of squadmates showing up during the beam sequence. In which case no one exits the Normandy. If that happens... congratulations, you killed Liara. You probably also set the entire planet on fire.

Because she's a plot device to provide Shepard with vital exposition. Also, her plot armor is the only reason Shepard is still alive.

Shepard is alive because of Liara, yes, but after that I really wish I could have killed her. Hell, I would actively done it. She's not relevant to me after Shepard comes back. Just a tag along. And she's the teammate I am forced to keep. Which pisses me off.

Mac Walters is lead writer so nothing we can do about it. Liara's character changes from interesting shy girl to boring canon LI plot device.

You have to do one thing: there is a default worst case scenario. Play this on Insanity and never pick Liara. Tell me how much you liked it.

I was surprised we didn't get a Virmire 2.0 in ME3. Did they give the reason as to why it was cut?
