I don't hate Liara at all, but it's annoy the hell out of me that she can never die. I won't ever actually kill her, but I just want to have the OPTION DAMMIT! What? Is Equal treatment a bad idea all of a sudden?
I like Liara but WHY IS SHE THE ONLY SQUADMATE WHO CAN NEVER DIE????

This sentence makes...No sense.
And the treatment each of the characters get is no where near equal.

Squadmates/Companions were never treated equally in Bioware games (or most other RPGs I've played).
The Baldur's Gate series, KotoR, Jade Empire, Dragon Age, Mass Effect...some characters have more content than others, some characters are plot relevant and can never die...and some characters are optional/can die.

She didn't have a situation where being forced to take her life was a possibility in ME1, she weren't in the suicide squad in ME2. That's the long and short.
Her writers wanted her to dodge the bullet every time. She got her own DLC; where was the option to side with the Shadow Broker (silly idea, I know) and kill Liara in the process? If the writer(s) wanted there to be a possible way to kill her somewhere, there would have been a way to do that. Obviously, this is not the case.

In Mass Effect 1 and 2, characters pretty much got the same treatment to each other ( ME2 characters got less contact than ME1 characters, but that's probably because they were so many squadmates. If you actually count it, I think all there are more cutscenes in ME2 with the squadmates than in ME1). Only in ME3 the favorism is obvious.
I'll agree that in other games of BioWare it's more or less like that, but it should not effect other games that were fine in that aspect, should it?
And aside of DA2 with Anders, I never truly felt forced into the romances (and I say that as someone who loves Anders). Though that's it could be just me.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
It's interesting.

To understand my post, yes. In the book, the pigs establish dominance over the other animals, and justify it by claiming they are "more equal" than the others. I was drawing a comparison between that and how Bioware gives Liara special treatment.HagarIshay wrote...

Or be able to spare Tela Vasir, as she's nothing more than ME2 Shepard in blue, Shepard should have had options to show understanding, not only hate or hate with a more angry tone. And then have Tela, not Liara become the SB and have Liara on the squad so she can die in the SM. Would satisfy the ones who wanted her a squaddie in ME2 and those who want her dead and gone. ME3 didn't use her SB role in the main plot anyway.
Making suggestions for ME2 at this point is just in vain though. She can't die, writers decision, nothing can be done about it.

A pig. That establish dominace over other animals.
Anyway, you want to say that Liara is getting all the power in the game, but still she is claimed to be like everyone else, like not being canon, or being just one of the other squadmates?

Sort of. You won't see Bioware admitting that they favour Liara, at any rate.HagarIshay wrote...

I meant the series as a whole.
But take, for example, Mass Effect 2: Garrus and Tali were full fledged squadmates. Liara had a 1-2h DLC, Wrex had a good cameo, the VS had a bad cameo.
The ME2 squaddies...some characters were mandatory (Jacob, Garrus, Miranda, Jack, Mordin), the rest was optional. Yes, every squadmate can die, but only at the end of the game (it's the same in ME3). You can recruit Liara last in ME1 (barely any dialogue) and visiting Liara is completely optional in ME2.

Yeah, but I was just throwing a random idea. Your idea, though, is a lot better than mine.

I know right. But, I wasn't trying to alter anything which has happened in another game. I just wanted to have options, but we all know, we don't have those.
