Personally, I think Miranda's role with Cerberus is overestimated. She was a Loyalist, in charge of the Lazarus Project because the Illusive Man thought she was fitted for the role. But she isn't that powerful/resourceful, she doesn't know what Cerberus is doing outside her particular cell, and she actually didn't know much about TIM.

I mean, I would love to give more screentime to ME2 squaddies, but to give all this spotlight to Miranda just because she was a former Cerberus operative is not that reasonable.

I wouldn't say she is overestimated. Very few people actually get the opportunity to meet in person with TIM... something which she was capable of doing in ME2. In short, she has been to Cronos Station. The Lazarus Project may be a small cell in relation to the entirety of Cerberus, but it was tasked with a pivotal mission -- bring Shepard back to life. The cell was purposely small because it was extremely confidential information that only those who trusted were tasked with.  It's not everyday that you bring someone who has been spaced back to life.  It's also by no means an easy task.  That's not something you would be placed in charge of if you were just a mere face in the masses. And, she definitely is resourceful. She has a lot of contacts and insight on how Cerberus functions.

I would say that she is without a doubt the person with the most information about Cerberus that Shepard can turn to. Why Bioware decided to null her role into "LOL ORIANNA" is beyond my understanding.

Not allowing Miranda to confront TIM about his betrayal of what Cerberus originally stood for was as bad as omission as if they had excluded a live Tali or Legion from the Quarian/Geth arc in my eyes. My guess is that they didn't want anyone in the Cerberus arc that might get in the way of their cheesy simplistic characterisation of Cerberus in ME3.

I'm not against more characters being open to satisfy as many players as possible. As long as it doesn't remove Tali and Garrus from the squad, why not? The more people that are happy, the better.

This is something that was very sad in ME3. The simplification of Cerberus. In ME2, they were much more grey, you could role play and be on their side. And in ME3, they are just pure evil bad guys taken from a B movie and shepard is the new fanboy of the alliance. Maybe that's why Miranda wasn't really involved with Cerberus. It would've added too much insight and complexity to Cerberus.

The EC might add some nice scenes here and there. But actually fix any of the problems the game has?

Oh dear my sides. They're bursting.

Not going to happen. Bioware won't do more than what is necessary TO THEM... They don't care what the fans think is necessary, if so they would've scrapped the entire god-child part.

Yeah very disappointed that they virtually removed roleplaying via dialogue control in ME3. The sudden railroaded fanboyism of Shep towards the alliance really annoys me. Hope that Bioware returns to the core thing that has attracted me to their games, the ability to sculpt my own character from their weakly defined outline..

They've said things along the line of "no new gameplay" in regards to the EC. This coming from arguably the biggest Miranda fanboy on this site. Like grey_wind said, her name isn't Garrus, Tali, or Liara.

You? Bahahahaha.

I just want to see her in the Extended Cut, with Shepard. That's all I care about.

WHERE IS MISS STRAHOVSKIE BIOWARE?

+1

Screw ****ley ****iams, I want Miranda.

Miranda's voice actor held out for more money before eventually joining the fold for ME3. I really doubt she will come back for this spur of the moment Extended cut work. She's probably busy on her actor gig.

Has anyone considered that seeing as the first dlc was released with the game, that the plot hole were intended to be plugged with character spotlight dlc much like shadow broker in ME2?

Personally i'd like to see more of Miranda.

When you think about it,

Jacob - save the separatists
Thane - kicks Kei Langs ass
Grunt - kicks some Raccnor ass
Jack (dunno dead in my play through)
Mordin - sacrifices himself for Genophage
Legion - dies by tali's hand and has the saddest death of all of them
Samara - goes to sort her daughters out

Tali
Garrus
Ashley
Liara

i keep separate as from ME1

point being Miranda has very short screen time for quite a important character or a Love Interest I just found it disappointing, seeing her in ME3 a little more would please me a lot  i mean leant up against a table fighting her father for Orriana, dies in my play through. I watched youtube and even if she lives you get a call on earth saying once this is over find her.  Ok great game ends up with crap ending no resolution let alone finding her...

Sure, it would be nice. But considering who Miranda's voice actress is...

I wouldn't hold your breath.

If Miranda could be in EDI's place in that assault, I would be 100% satisfied with Miranda's role... even with all the missteps it would still have.
.
I actually don't know why Bioware didn't do it. It's not like it would take lots of resources, the VA was already there, the role was already there, just give her some powers, some unique conversations with TIM and Kai Leng and BANG, just like that ME3 became that much better.

You take all the work you can get in the industry, Miss Strahovski is not Jennifer Aniston. She'll do it if she has time. Money isn't always relevant. I wish people would understand that actors are not mythical beings you can't approach.

Also, they can go to her like they did with Sheen. You DO realize that she probably doesn't work on Saturday or Sunday?

Also, I never said I needed dialouge. I just want to see her. Miranda has never really been good with words anyway. All you need to know about her is in her face.

I just want her there.

But yes, Miss Strahovski being there would be nice.

I think people may be hoping for too much with the EC. It's not going to be a patch, it's supposed to be optional DLC. There are limits as to what can be done with DLC due to the technical aspects of how it works...

The 1.03 patch seems to be an attempt override core game files with DLC without prior hooks built into the game files, from what I can tell with what it downloaded (extracted from the sfxarchive it was called "test patch" no less.) Seems to have not worked properly, based on the reports of it not fixing many of the things it claims to.

No doubt they'll have to whip up some new technical wizardry to get this to work properly as an optional DLC just to address the ending, let alone anything elsewhere in the game. So, modified existing content spread across the game seems very unlikely.

I don't want a modification to the current game.

I want Miranda dammit.

At the end.

Yeah, I get that. I was being TL;DR about new content appearing.

A lot of people seem to want to have changes all across the game in the EC (even people in this thread want Miranda at the Cerberus base.) If the EC DLC is optional as they say it will be, that is somewhat unlikely.

I'm sure they'll find a way to make it work, but it remains to be seen how and where.

No seriously, all I want is Miranda, with Shepard.

I don't have any other issues.

I'm just that much of a softie.

So most of the save games we have at this point probably have us standing in front of the Galaxy Map prior to the assault on Cronos Station - where the obvious message comes up talking about 'future DLC'.

It seems reasonable to assume that the Extended Cut will be adding a few things to this mission on top of Priority: Earth. The transition between the end of Priority: Cerberus Headquarters and Priority: Earth with regards to the Reaper's transporting the Citadel to Earth is a huge issue of contention within the fanbase.

It's probably very remote, but I was considering the possibility that BioWare will open up Miranda Lawson as a potential temporary squad-mate to accompany us on Cronos Station if she survived the mission on Sanctuary (if she survived).

Thoughts?

If ONLY. Like someone said earlier, so...much...potential....wasted. Miranda should have been the "in" to get to Cerberus in the first place. There is SO much potential for the interactions between her, the illusive man, Shepard, and the rest of the crew with her that just ...GAH!

Can you imagine a conversation between her and Ashley? Ha! Between her and the Shadow Broker, after she sees what Liara did to her room? C'mon! There is so much material here!

(I just miss having Miri on my ship...:crying:)

If they can't retcon her in to the game, then I at least want DLC with Miranda in a starring role and ON the squad.

People are expecting way to less of the EC. There you go.

This.

The ending can't be "fixed". Not without major plastic surgery. And that is not done in a couple of weeks.

So, no major corrections of anything ingame.

Sadly, that means no Miranda and no new Tali face either.
