Something I've been learning to do recently. After DA2, ME3, and Uncharted 3 to name a few it's just not worth the chance of disappointment.

Bah, true.  Funny how I preferred DA, ME2, and Uncharted 2 compared to their sequels, haha.

Though, the ones I'm excited for aren't sequels, so maybe that wins out?  lol

The Last of Us..

They tried WAY too hard to seem grim and brooding. Honestly, blowing off a chunk of a mans head or smashing his head into a desk is way past it's due.

I don't like all these games acting like they're EDGY or COOL.

In that particular case it fits. The setting has been made to be brutal and desperate since Day 1. Don't see why combat shouldn't reflect that.

Naughty Dog/Quantic Dreams=/= Bioware

Loved the entire Uncharted Series, and Last of Us seems like its right up my alley. Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain were the pinnacle of story telling, Beyond looks like its the next step. Both original and brand new, in no way would they subject to the same corrupt practices of cashing in on loyal fans.

Then there's Watch Dogs which looks brilliant and is entirely unrelated to any previous titles.

Well, overall, I'd have to say today's E3 conference was the best sleeping aid this side of Lunesta - well played, gaming industry.

And if they toned it down you'd complain they were trying to make a violent game marketed to kids or some BS.
Some people just can't be satisfied.

Only Watch Dogs interests me. Really, the whole event demonstrates why I spend half my gaming time with GoG titles.

I doubt E3 is going to get much more exciting until the next generation of consoles. And even then that's a maybe.

I do have a knock against the new God of War and other combat games that especially include big boss fights. After playing Dragon's Dogma, Quick time events are unacceptable here on out.

I haven't been on net for three days. Anything interesting?

(No, I'm not going to read 20 pages)

Gamers have been saying this forever but devs keep using them.

South Park is the only title really interesting to me. Matt and Trey were the highlight of the show. They're the only ones that seem to see how stupid half of the integration crap being shoved at the consoles is.

Then MS with all the Kinect rubbish...you can't get rid of it if you tried:

Nintendo is about the only interesting thing left after all the Uncharted clones today with countless scenes of generic action hero grunting and bantering and dropping f bombs as they run/fall/flail their arms wildly towards the camera as they scale a falling airplane/train or otherwise escape some explosion/catastrophe.

Its like nobody is even trying. They needed new consoles this year, not next, which is why I'm at least interested to see what Wii U can bring to the table. E3 should be about games and new hardware, not waving your hands around or watching "games" masquerading as movies.

I think the worst game I played with QTEs was Sonic unleashed. At the very end of the game you've got to press X 40 freakin times within a few seconds. And if you failed, you lost a lift and were sent back. I had to replay that so many times...

...yes, I play Sonic games.

Stone and Parker were great. Loved them and honestly I found them saying "we had to figure out the layout of the town" much more interesting than anyone at Microsoft conference or Sony's but I did prefer Sony's more.

But yea Lara Croft reboot looks like Uncharted.

Have to say this short gameplay video left my jaw on the floor and my eyes bleeding.

Yeah that does look very nice. Nice that its running on a PC too, thats basically next gen I'm going to gather. If its running on a high end Nvidia card now, I don't imagine thats coming to current gen consoles.

But then again, this is modern Lucasarts. Force Unleashed 2 had nice graphics and cool tech, but the game was horrible.

if this was my forum i have a long list of posters i wouldve banned a long time ago.

and again like i said my thread my rules dont like it go somewhere else

discussing the way ea is  being  run is one thing but to blantly say the game is a fail without even touching it is just a way to start a fight

how hard is that  to understand?

If you were owner of this forum no one would bother showing up.

good hopefully it would be the anti ea people itll make things alot easier

Yea I'll be watching it for sure but it won't be a day one buy because well it's Lucas Arts.

It is always easy to determine which ones are generic fakes and which ones are authentic and just are. It really influences atmosphere.

Dark Souls, for instance. It doesn't try to be fantasy horror...it naturally is fantasy horror. It doesn't try to be dark and foreboding...it naturally just IS.

Speaking of which, since PC gamers aren't interested in this gem, what does Namco have in store for dlc?

Wow, this year's E3 is absolutely horrendous.

Splinter Cell is no longer about stealth. I dig the fluid motion in Splinter Cell Conviction. I dig the last known position thing in Splinter Cell Conviction. But making an entire game out of mark & execute? Jeez.

Resident Evil doesn't look scary at all. It actually feels more action-y than the previous games, which are already very action-oriented. RE4 is the last good RE game.

Need for Speed Most Wanted looks soul-less. The game looks great, but there's no real identity. There is no reason for me to care.

There are only two games so far which I am interested in. The first being The Last of Us and the other being Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs looks phenomenal and seems to be a genuine innovation in video games. It looks extremely ambitious as well. Other than those two, E3 has been extremely disappointing and lackluster so far.
