Yes actually all the good stuff.
Ubisoft was awesome and Sony did pretty good too.
Dog Days and The Last Of Us were the best parts IMO.

I personally think things have gone downhill for the SC franchise since Chaos Theory which was downright amazing.
Double Agent was their first 360 title if I recall, and while I don't mind them trying new things many elements of that game were poorly done. The plot wasn't that good and the 360 and legacy console versions were completely different.
Then with Conviction the gameplay became a matter of killing everybody with some degree of stealth (hopefully), rather than trying to avoid firefights when possible. It was always easier to just kill every hapless group of mercs you ran into rather than try to sneak around them, which was impossible in many scenarios.
True, previous SC games would occasionally put you in a position where you had to fight you way out and that was a good chance of pace, but Conviction tried too hard to be an action game. Plus the storyline was downright crazy.

I didn't watch E3, but I saw some of the trailers on the Xbox Dashboard. Still waiting for Tomb Raider really.

As far as I'm aware it was never meant to center around gaming. Over the years its become all about gaming. Even today where people are annoyed with Microsoft and Kinect its still games in the center which is ironic when the name doesn't even say games.

The previous SC games were essentially designed so you HAD to use stealth: alerting an enemy brought several of them down on you, and they could actually hit the broad side of a barn, and Sam wasn't invincible. That's one thing I grew to appreciate about them is how...real I guess the combat felt. Real enough that it was better to avoid it.

Agreed. The mark and execute stuff certainly looked cool, but it should have belonged in a spin-off or some other game.

Yes. It's certainly a very cool concept--fluid, environment-aware combat--but it doesn't belong in a stealth game.

truth. after conviction I kinda lost hope in SC. but some of what I saw today was pretty decent.

That sounds so hypocritical. There was something for everyone today and I didn't even see half of it. Give me a break seriously even if you thought every conferance today was stupid and boring thats not the point. Showing off kick ass trailers wasn't enough? Dog Days? AC3? Last Of Us? Maybe the presenators didn't entertain you but you can't deny there's some good gaming shown today. Focus on the bad all you want I didn't even see it

you oviousy have no idea how much i was hyped for e3 but this will be a day and all the time i will not get back sadly......
unlike some people i didnt wake up this morning with a motive to just hate w/e
only good things from the show were ds3, tombraider, watch dogs, and that game from the people who did heavy rain ( cant remember atm)
i can care less about ms and there w/e glass crap and kinect only obsession they were pushing and same with sony with the vita garbage and hey everyone we ripped off ms by bringing you netflix and yadda yadda to ps3
