For the 360, I was impressed with the Halo 4 and Splinter Cell footage but thats it. Kinect and Smart Glass dont interest me (ESPN will be cool though) and I really think next year we'll hear about the 720 for a 2014 release. I wasnt really expecting much out of E3 so 2 good-looking games is acceptable with me although I wish there had been news of a new IP.
But Nintendo, such a disappointent. They HAD the conference this year since everybody wanted to hear more details about Wii U. Instead we get a few game previews, NO PRICE AND NO CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE?!?! What a letdown.

When I think stealth gameplay I think YOU are screwed if you're spotted. Fisher running around having shootouts and killing everyone in his path is not what i remember playing SC.
That is just stupid. Sure it looks like choice is the new stealth but we got plenty of games that offer choice. I sure like a game that lets me change my tactics should my original plan falls short but that is NOT what SC is about. It should be mission failed as soon as those guys started shooting at him. I thought this was third echelon... supposed to deny their involvement not CTU where Jack Bauer kills everyone to stop the bad guys.
UGH that is the most disappointing thing thats come out of E3 bar none.

I'm also keeping an eye on Star Wars 1313. I was expecting Star Wars: The Force Unleashed III to be announced, but another bounty hunter game, if done right, would be cool.
Dishonored sounds cool, and I'm definitely checking out God of War: Ascension. Also checking out Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Assassin's Creed III.

I work in data storage, and I can tell you that the people who are still talking about how wonderful the cloud is don't have a clue. This is mostly due to data loss which won't be as big a deal for games as, say, for a bank, but Diablo III is a preview of how much can go wrong when you have to pass game data through several handshakes and hope somebody's home down at the server farm. We're now used to high speed internet, but what happens when more and more users are on the web, doing more and more high-volume things... it's going to be harder, not easier, to rely on being online.AlanC9 wrote...
I can't help but think that the NWN model is going to be the future of gaming. Keep the art assets and maybe sounds on the client, but pass the rest of the content down from the servers.

Well isn't plausible deniability the entire premise? Or is Fisher saying F that LOLOL I want to kill the bad guys?

It's on it's last legs, no doubt, but look at the pattern when switching from the original and the PS2 to the 360 and PS3. They even announced an Assassin's Creed PS3 bundle at E3, both sides are tight lipped, and they still need to gauge the reactions to the WiiU to see what technology they need to work on to appeal to that market.
I feel like they are waiting for the WiiU to launch and then plan to emulate anything they don't have. I have to admit the ingame message boards (or w/e) seems very useful when stuck in a game and the Mario Bros. U has ingame messages from friends which can also be turned off. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony and Microsoft try something like that after all Smart Glass = WiiU gamepad.

It was obvious that Microsoft was copying off of Nintendo's paper when they announced their smart glass. People love gimmicky stuff like that. Anyone who denies this needs to look at the success of the Wii Fit and the respone from both Sony and Microsoft by making Move and Kinect. It makes money to follow what Nintendo does so they're going to gauge it then apply it in a half-assed way. It only works for Nintendo because they have broader appeal, while the "hardcore" gamers on the PS3 and 360 could care less about it.

PCs do it better: why I don’t care about Smartglass. This made me chuckle.

Sorry, but Splinter Cell is dead to me - no Michael Ironside, no Sam Fisher.
They could've made a new game and done anything with it. Instead this. The Ironside being gone is bad enough but this isn't even Splinter Cell no matter how you slice it.
I guess Tom Clancy is looking up to Micheal Bay now.

Ubisoft confirms platform plans.
In an interview at E3 today, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key confirmed to IGN that Watch Dogs is headed to consoles and PC and could even come to Wii U.
“PS3, 360 and PC,” Key told us when we asked him to confirm which systems we can expect Watch Dogs to be released on.
In addition, we also asked Key if the game could come to Wii U.
“Not at this time," he said. "We have so many titles in development for Wii U right now that we need to keep that team focused and this is a very very ambitious game. But it’s not out of the question.”
Watch Dogs was announced earlier this week during Ubisoft's E3 press conference. For everything we know so far, check out our Watch Dogs wiki.

Yeah thats pretty low even for Ubisoft. So worried many of the great games showed were by Ubisoft and I can't shake the feeling that all of them are going to have day one DLC and online only DRM even for singleplayer. I want to believe Ubisoft has learned their lesson but its hard to ignore how its been with them lately.

This may well be the case, but they'll get my money for Watch Dogs. Atleast they haven't been that bad with Assassin's Creed.
