To be fair to Tom Clancy I'm pretty sure Ubisoft bought the rights to use his name for games. So they can literally put it on anything they want and it won't necessarily even have Clancy's involvement.

Sorry, but Splinter Cell is dead to me - no Michael Ironside, no Sam Fisher.

They could've made a new game and done anything with it.  Instead this.  The Ironside being gone is bad enough but this isn't even Splinter Cell no matter how you slice it.
I guess Tom Clancy is looking up to Micheal Bay now.

Sigh, another stealth action game ruined...

Don't worry Dishonored has taken it's place and actually allows us to complete the game without killing anyone.

As of yet, Assassin's Creed 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Watch Dog are holding my interest, particularly the latter. The concept behind Watch Dog is very interesting, and its trailer was cool (obviously inspired by Ron Paul's campaign videos).

AssCreed 3 looks good, but I've never bothered to get too into that franchise. Assassin's Creed 1 was ok when I played it on PC but it got so repetitive. Never bothered with AssCreed 2 since Ubi weighed it down with their crappy DLC and took forever to get it out on PC. I think that DRM is gone now, so maybe I'll try it one day.

I strongly advise you to try AC2 nowadays (DRM sucks big time dont know if its still on) AC2 is way way better then first game and wipes that repetitve gameplay out.
And there wasnt many DLCs for AC2 just 2-3 minor ones and 2 xp packs. And i think it has a GOTY edition which involves all DLCs but not xpacks.

Yeah Dishonored and Hitman Absolution make me less angry about Splinter Cell.  Hell look at Assassin's Creed 3.  thats a stealth game that is heavy on action and I'm fine with that because the series has been about that from the beginning.
What bugs me is they had to turn a pure stealth series into another run of the mill action game.  OH look Metal Gear Rising.... companies destroy beloved franchises and then start new ones.  I'm just expecting Dishonored 5 to be a straight up shooter :?

Hey, I'm sure you've talked about this someplace upthread, but why haven't you played it? They keep telling me that the game is such a failure that it's available cheaper than other games are at this point in their life-cycle, so why haven't you picked it up?

The two main reasons are taken from ME2:

* Profanity - was informed it had as much or more than prior game. This is a personal peeve, and only replayed ME2 a single time because of it. And some forumites were less than helpful:

http://social.biowar...3/index/8957986

* Thermal clips - having to police the area after a fire-fight was obnoxious, and leaving with my inventory less than max had my O-C nature screaming. It ruined any sense of urgency when I would imagine Shepard yelling" Go on; will catch up as soon as I gather all this ammo!". Plus, dropped clips from the enemy should be empty; not full.

So.. you haven't bought or played the game but you're here to tell people who did buy and hate the game that "haters gonna hate"?

Seriously?

Oh well from what I heard on RE6 I may just get dishonored or neither of them.

The game has no inverse option, which I've been shooting on "plane" controls as I played lots of shooters like that and flight games in the 90's. So I can't really stand playing with the "normal controls" And before someone goes "lol you dont pull back to look up". Yes, yes you do. If you look up your skull pivots backwards. And Vise Versa. So it feels natural to me. Anyways moving on.

It seems the controls are much more...linear than the video would show. In fact most of the trailer was scripted gameplay that just blends in with the in game play almost seemlessly. And jump/QTE events are almost spot on and unforgiving, with slow reload times on death. And many hands on testers, moan about how the game seemed unable to decide if it wanted to be a shooter or a Survival Horror title, with easy Mow down parts, and hard, running parkore bosses.

Meh not a sale for me now I guess. Don't mind, the box art would always keep me from taking it seriously.

Have not been outside of my apt much at all this past year, but I know that when there are those outside my walls that are acting like children or entited elitists should be called on their behavior. I do not have to actually be there to see it, or in the game to read forums, reviews, etc to gather information on it.

Or are only those gathered in person at E3 worthy of being heard on their opinions?

Highly unlikely. Conviction sold 2 million copies in two months which is pretty good.

If you base your opinion on reviews and youtube - clips then I really don't think you have any right at all to talk down to those who don't like the game. These people have played the game, seen everything and decided that they hate it.
Furthermore, there is a difference between watching conferences at E3 from Youtube and playing a full 30 - hour game. Your comparison is bad.

When the reviews have nuggets like how much they were enjoying the game until the final 5-20 minutes, I believe it has some merit on the discussion.

And based on some of the early Hater reviews on DA2 and ME3, it would appear that some others might not have played the games either.

One does not have to watch a film to be informed that the contents might be disagreeable, and yet still defend the film and creators themselves for making a product of their choosing.

Didn't see this till now. He pretty much now doesn't do anything. In fact half the books with his name on the title arn't even his now. His name is like royality payments. Authors and games latch onto it to make money off of his fame back when he wrote good books and didn't flip out with some of his latest and crazy work. Lets him shout his retarded political views and to an extent racial bigotry when he likes. Its a win win for him really.

Please point me out to an early hater review of Mass Effect 3. Go ahead. Because from the early reviews I saw most of them praised the game and not one mentioned the horrible ending, which really makes me question the objectivity of their review.

And I don't give a damn about what you might think of the game. YOU calling people who have played the game and hate it "haters" and keep spouting idiotic guano like "haters gonna hate" when you haven't even played the game bothers me.
Why should YOU have the right to form your opinion based on reviews and clips while people who have actually played the game can't form their opinion without being name called by you. It's ridiculous.

See early Player postings at Amazon or Metacritic.

Yep; early praise reviews are likely to be too subjective for much use either, but they are not quite as vile to read. Simply move on to others, and gather info as possible.

Not a fan, huh? Will live with the shame. Now back to E3.

E3, when DLC finally won.

As sicking as that is, it still can't top the EA conference where they opened by trying to convince us how wonderful dlc is.
