Welcome!

And what they said.

Oh, and use your mic and ask people if something is not clear.

Yeah, I probably should start communicating better. I'm kinda shy so I usually just put myself in a Private Xbox party alone so I don't talk with randoms.

A mic is not needed, just be a good team and stick togeather!

Just started playing a week ago, still don't have anything really good yet and I still fail about %50 of the time on Silver. I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions for me.

#1. Is there any shame on being the lowest scorer? When I play Silver I more often than not find myself at the bottom and it makes me feel like I'm not contributing.

#2. Is it best to just buy Premium Spectre Packs?

#3. What are some classes you would recommend? I just got the Phoenix Adept yesterday luckily and I'm having a ton of fun with him, I've always wanted to try a Geth simply because Geth are awesome but I've never been much of a sniper.

Just any general tips and tricks would be fine, if you want to recommend a build to me based on my manifest that would also be great.

1. No, I've seen several low scoring players still be incredibly helpful to the team overall, be it by racking up a crapton of assists, helping with objectives, not dying much or at the least not dying on the other side of the map, etc.

2. No, Spectre packs are just as useful and i tend to have better luck with them, Also start on Veteran packs to flush out all of your uncommon silver cards (You get the odd gold too so it's good value)

3. Keep in mind that any class can be good if used right, i personally recommend the Batarian Solider/Sential, it's a better version of the Krogan imo as you can have tons of fun meleeing the crap out of things with it's heavy animation or as i call it the slugger style (It grabs it's weapon and swings it like a baseball bat, especially useful if you have a shotgun/blade attachment combo)

well here's some advise from a decent but not great player(I only play on the weekends due to work ). First off score doesn't matter as long as You're trying. Second I suggest at least trying all characters, some of the most fun I've had was with characters I thought I'd never touch. Third, at least by a bunch of veteran packs till you level up a weapon you like. If you can't beat silver yet, it takes to long to save up for the specter/premium specter packs. Once you can handle silver it'll be easier to bank credits. But like I said, experimenting with different characters and weapons is where the fun is.

Word. Welcome!

1) Low score doesn't mean lack of contribution. There is no discernible difference in credits/xp from the top to the bottom. If your team successfully completed a full mission, then you must have contributed, unless you were leeching, which is a whole different anger.

2) PSPs and Spectre packs are nice, but you can have a better chance at unlocking the rare stuff if you fully level up your common and uncommon stuff. Best way to do that early is with recruit packs. Once your commons are at level X, you'll probably be a lot more comfortable playing silver as your basic difficulty. This means you'll be able to afford a veteran pack for every successful mission, so spam those. You could probably figure out some ratio where you can sprinkle in a spectre/PSP every once in awhile too. I usually just buy one vet pack for every successful mission, and whatever's leftover is saved until leftovers equal 60k, when I will buy one spectre pack.

3) I personally love playing as an Asari Justicar Adept. Area of effect Reave is ridiculous. If you like playing as the Phoenix Adept, you've already kind of lucked out. You've got a Carnifex, so... success!

Anyway. I hope that helps.

I just sent an invite if you'd like to play.  Or I can add you and we can play later.  Anything is cool with me.

1. Let me tell you from the l33t player I am. My N7 rating will make you cower in awe once you see it:
Since the new DLC came up I degraded quickly from "OK player" to "suck". Why? Because I try out all the new stuff, sometimes forgetting about past lessons learned. So basically I am a new player with all the new content, too.

2. For building basic gear, recruit packs should be OK. For maxing your rare items take the PSPs. I had the rares maxed before the uncommons. In the end I bought a couple of veteran packs to complete my collection. Equipment Packs are nice if you like to build characters with ammo powers. They give a boost for gold also. Found myself short of missiles once I started buying PSPs and there wasn't a permanent Jumbo Equipment pack in the store.

3. "I just got the Phoenix Adept yesterday luckily and I'm having a ton of
fun with him, I've always wanted to try a Geth simply because Geth are
awesome but I've never been much of a sniper."

Now this sounds as if you already found a good answer. Having a ton of fun is the way to roll!
Personally I like the Kroguard (I always start laughing once this guy enters rage mode or shouts: "They're dead!"), had a good start into MP with HE builds and I love explosions (Biotic characters and the GI - grenadier build).

Why do you feel like you should be able to jump right in to Silver? There's nothing wrong with playing Bronze.

As a lot of people have stated, don't worry too much about the score. Everyone ends up with the same XP after the game is over anyway. As long as you're doing your best and not just standing around you're doing fine.

Regarding classes.. a biotic class is a pretty good start since you don't have to rely quite as heavily on a good weapon after (even if they of course do help). You can get away pretty well by just blowing stuff up with your biotics. =)

More credits and exp, besides, it makes me feel better I guess?
