Hi everyone, this is my first post 'i think'. Anyhow I have notice that the power calcultions are not correct and was wondering if this was dilerately done by the game creators or is it a game glitch. Let me expand a bit more on what i mean about the issue: let's say i am selecting through the 1-6 rank in the power up section and at rank 3 it says your damage power is 400. if you select the next rank(4) your damage will increase by 50%. Now 50% of 400 is 200 and as such your new damage total should now be 600 but instead it's something like 480. and i have notice that it's the same thing with the time calculation.
If this topic was already discussed then by all means plz let me know what to type in the search section to find it as i have been searching on and off for weeks and have not found anything.
Any sensible help would be appreciate
Thanks

I believe those bonus calculations are not compounded. The "bonus" amount alone continues to increase as you take additional damage boosting ranks.

Well first off thanks for replying, i really appreciate it. Now if what you say is the case then i can't see how the damage levels on the guns or powers will be correct. I want to also add that the calculation on the time in the power ups are also incorrect.

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
Where have you been?
It's alright we know where you've been.
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time,
Provided with toys and 'Scouting for Boys'.
You bought a guitar to punish your ma,
And you didn't like school, and you
know you're nobody's fool,
So welcome to the machine.

Yeh the percentage bonuses are just calculated from the base value.

Actually that too is incorrect. i did look at the base number and did the calculations and they were off by A LOT. A gaming friend had said the same thing to me and after he went and did the calculations for himself he saw that i was right. 'buy-all-u-ware' if your people don't know how to do maths then get folks who do :innocent:.

Can you give an example of which ones are wrong? Bear in mind that the listed recharge time at rank 1 is probably not the basic recharge speed unless you choose weapons that give you exactly zero bonus. Also recharge speed uses some freaky inverse formula so I believe you do get diminished returns as you get higher bonuses (+25% recharge rate will reduce the recharge time by more if you have heavy weapons than it does if you already have +200%).
Power damage should be easier to understand so I'd be interested to hear which ones are wrong there. Remember that you need to take into account bonuses already gained from your racial passive if you have any ranks in it.
I'd also recommend checking the change logs as it could be that the description hasn't been changed for something that has been rebalanced.

Even if you didn't do the krogan berserker power-up and tried to from the base number and applied the 25% you still get a way off number.
Here's another example for the same krogan soldier: The initial berserker damage is 401.63. It then gets improved by 20% which then makes it 464.63, the differnce is 63. How on earth is 63 20% of 401.63, where does one learn such calculations? 20% of 401.63 =80.326 which makes the power up 481.96.
Tell you what, just select any of your own multiplayer characters, reset the power up and start from scratch with the calculations. Select one weapon that moves the weight from 200 to make things easy. And just to make things more interesting, ensure that you select a weapon that is within the power up specs, like the soldier krogan power up benefits the shot gun, so in that case use a shot gun. Then go to the power ups and now before you fully select a power, just click on it to high light it and see how much it will improve by. Then try calculating that percentage in any number of ways that you think the game calculates it and see if you get the correct number as you now see it in the power up. Then calculate it as we do in the real world and see if in anyway you arrive at the number that the game is showing you.
If you find the way that they mysteriously get their calculated numbers in the game then PLZZZZZZZZZ let me know that i can know how to fully benefit from it in the game.<_<

Do you mean base damage of Carnage? Do you have points spent in Krogan Berzerker as well? They do not multiply, they add. Carnage has base damage of 315, it goes up to 401.63 if you take rank 5 Krogan Berzerker and choose power damage each time. When you choose rank 3 Carnage you then get 20% of 315.
Base cool down for Carnage is 10 seconds. If your weight bonus is 0% and you don't have any points in Krogan Berzerker you'll see this. The formula is base cooldown/(1+bonus) so if your bonus is 0 the cooldown is 10. If your weight bonus is 200% your cooldown is 10/(1+2), 3.33 seconds. If you then take a further 25% recharge speed (Carnage rank 2) this is added to the 200% you already have so your cooldown is 10/(1+2.25) or 3.0769230769230769230769230769231 seconds (which is rounded to 3.08).
