roll it back roll it BACK!!!

It should look for

Settings (Difficulty)
Latency (Less lag plz)

I can't deny it has been NICE not finding the low levels players wanting to try Gold, BUT the price is too great...

My N7 level is at 120. I've met and added some people I've played with whose N7 ranks were in the 400 & 600+ range. Basically from a random co-op match up to a friend list one. If this patch was implemented prior to this time, I would have never met them. I see that as another reason this fix is disappointing in addition to the long wait times. A co-op game should be cooperative to all, to interact and mingle with, not be confined to a select group. Sorry if that all sounded a bit cheesy but it's just another side / reason to consider.

This 'would' be a valid form of matchmaking... if the community was the size of, say, WoW.

I disagree. It would be a valid form of matchmaking if it were a standard RPG and N7 level reflected character power. The sole reason for matchmaking characters by level is because players of that level will be doing the same things, and going above or below one's level is to invite death or boredom, respectively. This is simply not the case in ME3: Gold Reapers will
make shorter work of an N7 level 1000 with a character level 1 and rubbish weapons than an
N7 level 100 with a character level 20 and a Hurricane.

I did not read trough the thread but just wanted to voice my opinion about this new system.

Its horrible

It takes forever the lobbies to fill up and N7 rating means nothing. People die just as easily if they are N7100 or N7500. Now I just start soloing gold and maybe someone will join but you have no idea about their classes or weapons.

Bioware please change it back. :crying:

Also, there is a substantial N7 level difference between me and my friends, many of whom I met when they were in the low levels

I am not a fan of the new system... I personally choose to not export characters so I am at a low level, but I do not enjoy playing with only low level players who have no business being in gold yet.

ROLL IT BACK!

The only issue somewhat related to N7 level, relatively minor one, was new players using the default search setting, that had "any difficulty level" as the default setting. When these new players used the default setting, they often got in to gold lobbies and kicked, or if the people allowed them to stay, they had horrible time in the match, and rage quitted in the middle of it.

How you could have fixed that issue much more easily:

Make default setting bronze, maybe even remove "any difficulty" all together as option, or remove that option only to very low N7 level, maybe 10, 20 or 40 could be cap, or open gold option only after you reach that 10, 20, or 40 or N7 level.

N7 only matters when you have less than 120, more or less, because it shows that you have not tried many of the characters or had time to find a decent weapon. Beyond that, it does not mean much if anything.

Maybe a better system would be to lock the difficulty levels until you reach so many extractions on the lower level.

roll it back add room vote kick instead

but if someone never promotes the rank means crap to how good they are just as my high level of which i am barely a 'fair' player.

instead of automatchmaking make the matchmaking optional perhaps with different filters so we can better customize it.

TBH I've kind of enjoyed it. My random/random/golds have been going much better since the change.

I'm tired of having to carry noobs.

Then give them to me. I'd rather play a Gold with three N7 1's then spend the entire night waiting for 1015's to find me.

/sign again for Rollback.

and this is day 2 of new dlc just wait when a lot get tired of it again and the player numbers drop off

i wondered why i could not get anyone to join. I had to invite friends but it needs to be an option if anything. Just add a filter for rank like you see there for maps or enemy.
Unknown=anyone can join

BioWare knows that N7 level means next to nothing when it comes to player skill.

Do they?  I mean do they really know and believe this, because I get the impression they assume we do this:

- play characters to level 20
- promote
- we buy packs, and shout happy sounds at character cards increasing the rank of our characters
- rank back to 20, now a more skilled player
Goto 10

But it's clear this is not how it works.  You have skilled payers at N7 120, essentially noobs at N7 1500, and people unhappy with maxed characters at level 20 buying packs and getting character cards.

So do they really know this?

This is just a ploy to get people to promote more characters,

Maybe, it certainly makes one want to promote away from the matching of total noobs, but that's no guarantee.  It's just poorly implemented IMO,. And yes happening on the PS3 too.

I used to not see as many people around my rank.

Now that I know that 99% are players w/o thumbs or generalized intellect I want my random teammates with N7 120 -150 back!

I can't get full lobbies at all since the change. I've played a total of 4 games in nearly 3 hours because it's just dead air in the lobby. This is horrible.

QFT... I haven't been able to find a game that isn't FBWGG all night....

And now why would I ever want to promote again? My N7 rating is already pretty high and what I am noticing is that I am paired up with MORE FBWGG teams than ever before...

Can I please roll my N7 back to the 500s now? You know instead of 1700+

I can't for the life of me find a game right now.

I haven't noticed matchmaking to be honest, but I HAVE noticed that getting into a multiplayer game is a pain in the rear now. It takes ages to even get into a random bronze match, let alone trying to get a Gold match. It's absolutely ridiculous, my N7 is just over 400 but who cares? I want to play the game, other people want to play the game, let's just play!

EDIT: is this the worst patch ever made by Bioware? Doesn't fix anything and creates loads of new problems.

I have a rather high N7 rank (~3750, top10 in my country) and matchmaking takes forever. I honestly thought the first time I opened a lobby, that the servers were down, since I waited for 10min only to have one player join and leave after 5min of waiting in vain (for which I don't blame him). When I don't have enough friends online to join up with, it's practically unplayable for me...

I never had a big problem with lower N7 ranks apart from the occasional poor N7 rank 6 lad who got put into a Gold lobby thanks to the "random" pre-setting for difficulty. I even took part in both "operation carry" and had a great time even if we did not always finish a round successfully. So, please either make it optional or let it fall back to the old behavior after a set amount of unsuccessfull tries to get ppl of comparable ranks into one lobby or get rid of it altogether.

1. Did they really implement a N7 match making system?
2. Does Bioware actually think N7 rating means anything?

1. Yes
2. It was probably ment to be a way to rank players but since you can get XP out of the store with real cash and people don't bother promoting, it broke.
