Hi guys,
I will post news about this topic here:

Read that sticky. There is a lot of stuff you guys need to reconsider. Not just match making. Virtually everything about patch 1.0.3 needs to be redone.

Very annoying change, especially for me. I don't promote, so my N7 is 120, but it's been that value since March, meaning my rating doesn't reflect my skill and experience at all. I would venture to say that I'm a rare case, and that most people with a similar N7 can't complete a gold match, aside from WGG. So, with this new update, playing random gold is pretty much impossible for me. Thanks Bioware!!

But hey, the other player's meaningless numbers were similarly high to my own meaningless number.

Yeah, the new "matchmaking" needs to be fixed.

I attempted 5 matches today, and 4 of them tossed me into a game in progress containing nothing other than myself, some corpses, and a bunch of enemies I was then expected to solo.
The 5th game was incredibly fun though. Love the new classes, especially the Vorcha

I've stopped using equipment due to the game having a VERY strong desire to drop me into games in progress. The issue is that typically if I'm taking the place of another player at wave 7, that empty spot is there because several players just rage-quit.

Pretty much my other problem...when I do find a game, I'm thrown straight into a game in progress. Often during wave 10 (after objectives) where a person quit with the credits and XP. All equipment that I loaded then went to waste, and I got nothing....

I'm trying to find a game at 3AM right now; of the four games I've played, one was laggier than any I've played, three games ended in us wiping due to me not wanting to solo enemies with a level 1-10 Kroguard, and all four games didn't have a full party. This is stupid ... I really don't care about playing with people my own rank because they're my own rank, I care about playing with a full party in lag-free conditions.

I'm finding N7 ~900s are generally pathetic at the game if they're still in Silver like me, and die far more often than the people I played with before the matchmaking. Their builds are also usually screwy, or Bronze material.

Hopefully people stop ****ing about n7 rank after this is fixed.

I need to wait 10 minutes to play almost every gold match with random players. It's very annoying. N7 rank really shows nothing. I had games with players who have N7 about 90. And their skills was much better than skills of players with N7 300 (for example). N7 matchmaking makes game not so interesting as it was before.

I'm really not sure what someone was thinking when they decided to add matchmaking based on N7 rank. It's a completely useless number. In my case, it results in me getting kicked or insulted by both skilled and newbie players. I prefer to play in Bronze, because frankly, I'm not comfortable playing even at Silver difficulty. But since I have an N7 rating of about 500, I've been accused of... well, I'm not sure, both of them didn't have their mic adjusted properly. But I know they were upset at me, and that my N7 rating and level 20 characters had something to do with it.
At the same time, I've joined matches that turned out to be Silver or Gold. And invariably get yelled at because I have poor weapons, or they don't like the class I'm playing, or they just generally decide I'm not awesome enough to be there. (As for how I've ended up in Silver or Gold matches before this patch, I have no idea. I search for random/random/bronze, but I've still ended up in higher difficulty matches a few times.) And to be honest, *I* don't think I have any business in Silver or Gold matches. I can do ok in Silver, in the sense that I don't die constantly and I don't *think* I'm obviously getting people killed. But for me to kill something with a headshot is sheer luck, not something I can do at will. (I can sort of manage with an unscoped Carnifex, but every time I've tried to use the single-shot sniper rifles, I just end up wasting bullets and usually getting killed.)
To be perfectly honest, if there was a way to reset N7 rating to zero and start over, I'd do it in a heartbeat and stop at 120. I only promoted because I wanted to try new builds and didn't have any respec cards, and to take advantage of the first "promotion" weekend event. Now I'm stuck with an N7 high enough that other players assume I must be more skilled than I actually am. Not to mention the fact that, since I've only ever played Bronze consistently, I suspect I'm actually pretty under-equipped. I certainly don't have enough consumables to used them constantly - what credits I have earned, I've spent on Specter and Premium packs to try to unlock the different characters.

I'm sorry, but are you saying that as a N7 120 rank, you don't want to play with other N7 120~ rank players, but rather play with N7 2500~ rank players? That's a bit hypocritical don't you think? Do you think the 2500~ rank players want to play with a 120 rank player?
...Yes.
Yes I would.
I would totally play with N7 120.
/sign for Rollback
Me too. I'm at 600 and I would play with N7 1 and N7 50,000
/signed!
I think you missed my point. I'm not saying it shouldn't be open for everyone to join everyone, I'm just reacting to someone who is rank 120 who doesn't want to/feels punished having to play with other rank 120. That's just wrong.
I'm all for free flow in the match up, I'm honestly bothered that people care about the rank as the rank does not equal skill. I've been matched up with rank 150's who has scored just as well as me and sometimes above so to limit the rank matchup was not my intent.
I just feel that its wrong when someone almost outright says he is too good to play with rank 120 and is a rank 120 himself.

Maybe they thought matchmaking would force people to promote.

Or make N7 matchmaking as a option to enable or disable. (For those who don't want low or high N7 ranked players)

I've played several games this week, brutally waiting for the lobby to fill, and every n7 700-900 has been WORSE than the 100s-300s i played with before this change. Not saying that higher n7 players are worse, my point is, if someone sucks in my current game, I can votekick them out next game. But currently, I can't do that because votekicking the terrible player out means waiting another 5-10 min to find a replacement.
Elitists hate the current system because they can't get a game up, and they can't rapidly find replacements for bad players. New players hate the system because they can't get carried. Who are you helping bioware?

Try the other side of the pond, the game now pairs me with similar N7 levels > local host, so more often than not I get paired up with some awful American host (awful for my gameplay experience at least) because we have similar levels, rather than you know, other Australians.
Good system Bioware -.-
