Please stop N7 matchmaking!

That's why I only search for games and do not choose to host them. Poor squadmates. The only thing I could do was apologizing and crawling shyly out of the lobby, leaving the rest of the quickly joining guys and girls wondering what that was all about.
Is that an intentional thing?

i had a 1 get dumped into a gold match in progress. i feel really bad for the 3 players actually trying. i hope they realized it was by no means my choice to hamper anyone by signing up for a gold. hell, i still haven't done one on 20 yet - and won't until i feel certain i am good enough to be a valuable team member and not a millstone around their necks.
either removing the N7 matching system or making participation entirely voluntary (click this checkbox if you want N7 score matching) would help out.
I've had exactly the same thing happen to me a few times. I enjoy levelling up my characters first before getting into Silver and then Gold games, but a few times I have been dropped in with a low level character and end up not offering anything.

N7 = tooth fairy. A fictional thing we believe in until we find out otherwise.
to bad N7 wasn't based off of actual gaming experience. When I first started I thought your N7 grew by each game you played or each successful extraction you lived through. I was let down to know if was just a dumbed down COD prestige mode.
Have to agree, would have been better if the N7 meant something. Maybe they tried this as to make it mean somthing but in the end it went well ****** up.

I agree that there needs to be some kind of meaning or incentive for the N7 level but the matchmaking the way it is after the patch is no good.

Anyway i will probably try tomorrow.
I think that if they don't fix this in a few days time the game will be dead.
So FIX IT !!!

Its affecting us 4-digit N7s the worst, but others with 3 are saying the same anyway! What is BW waiting for??

Edit: Well, the only exception is a banshee/atlas/phantom waiting for you at the respawn point. *cough*

Nerfers and non-nerfers alike agree... this sucks. The idea man behind this should be fired, It shows a complete lack of understanding about the game and it's players.
Think about it for a second: ME3 doesn't have an active beta for large-scale testing (and even for games that do, beta often remains largely ignored by the community and doesn't serve its purpose) they're putting it on a test run and are clear about it, they said they'll change it if it doesn't work out.
Think before you post, if it's trolling like your sig says, it's not funny.

Not defending the new system at all, but how could the effectively test a match making system without releasing it to the public first. You'd have to have a very large test group to have any quantifiable results. Basically releasing it was the only way to test it as far as I can tell.
Couldn't they just run a separate instance of the new matchmaking process that would merely report its progress based on actual traffic? Seems risky otherwise.

An active beta would be completely unnecessary to see it's a bad idea. They'd be able to see the amount of numbers playing the gamebeforehand and a whole host of additional information on the playerbase that would have allowed them to see what effects this matchmaking system would have.Core_Commander wrote...

It'd be pretty damn clear to almost anyone that you cannot segregate a smallish community (and yes, the MP community on this is small)... something that this matchmaking does considering it practically limits the casual player to playing only with players around his/her level.
Limiting player pool in an already limited community = MP death.
There's no doubt about it that it was a horrendously poor decision, something that quite clearly shows that Bioware are not experienced when it comes to multiplayer. Hopefully they'll rectify this soon enough and learn from their mistakes. Until that time comes the game has just become unplayable.

Any word if tomorrow's server maintenance will fix the matchmaking situation?
At this point I could believe that they are going to take the covers off of the servers hardware and smear poo everywhere.

Right after, queue for a gold - get dropped into a bronze 1 minute from extraction.
This system isn't broken at all.

I don't understand one thing - why Bio staff didn't warn us about new N7 matchmaking system? Why it wasn't in the patch notes? Are we guinea pigs? Do Bioware consider it's community like that? It really mostly harms EA/Bioware, not us.

We starter our match and NO ONE, absolutely no one, joined our game. We had to 2man the whole thing.
To the Krogan guy from last night, if he reads this, Thanks for the awesome 2man game, it was fun.
Now for the Developers, I'd like the N7 match making thing to be rollbacked. It's not working. I know what you were trying to fix here which is the constant whining from people saying "N7 level below my N7 level = noob. " But the system is not working as intended. It's making MP rooms be... emptier, games harder to find (when im sure there are tons of them already in progress), and to be honest the quality of players is still the same, no matter the N7 level lol...
So yeah... unless there is a filter option to look for N7 level specific rooms , the match making as it is now its not good.
Thanks lol...

Probably because "The Power What Is" decided that this was one of those back end server things that we didn't need to know about. And in the best case scenario, I'm sure they thought that the matchmaking system would either be a big improvement (somehow) or at least totally transparent to the users. They don't normally share the details of server maintenance and server-side hardware/software upgrades, other than to warn us (usually) that they're going to have to turn the servers off for a while to work on them. I can't think of any companies offhand that do share that information, though I'm sure someone will be happy to supply examples of how I'm WRONG in that assertion.
