Yeah if this is true, I'm against it.

N7 rating is not a good measure of comparing players, and a horrible choice to match players according to it. Please reconsider and change this limitation.

Don't roll them back.

Complainers gonna complain.

I just had 2 golds back to back where I got matched to 3 N7 50's so it doesn't even work all that well anyway.

I really hope they roll this back. Considering that N7 ranking is pointless and not indicative of skill anyway, this feature should be removed as soon as possible.

Complaining about no one joining a lobby for 10 minutes isn't the same as complaining for the sake of complaining.

Sure, I'm only complaining for the sake of complaining... stfu.

Roll back the changes or come up with a better solution, ANYTHING that doesn't meant my lobby doesn't even get one person in after 15 minutes.

Hello gracious, kind, wise, magnificent Bioware person!
If you would do me the immeasurable favor of broaching this suggestion to your company's internal deliberations, you would have my undying gratitude; I shall also name my firstborn child for you:
Latency-based matchmaking!
That is all.

Again, I encourage people to make note of the N7s in each varied lobby and determine the average/mean N7 of the lobby.

That way we could determine if you're really unaffected by this or not.

For example, I got put into a lobby with a level 14 and a level 410. My N7 is 218, which is awfully close to the average of that lobby.

heres some numbers for you, my n7 is 1223, first lobby, 1200, 1800, 2000, so average over 1500, second lobby, 600, 800, 200, so average 700, 3rd lobby 3100, 900, 600, average over 1600

i seem to be unaffected

Why not just have it like so:

N7 ranks 0 - 120 match up more frequently than not.
N7 ranks 121-300 match up more frequently than not.
N7 ranks 301-500 match up more frequently than not.
N7 ranks 501-1000 match up more frequently than not.
N7 ranks 1000-infinite match up more frequently than not.

Something like this. Let's face it, once you reach above N7 1000, it really doesn't matter.

It's good they're taking this into account. I mean, for the love of god, it's a co-op game. I don't see why we need some gearscore-estque matchmaking system for this. It really ruins the spirit of the game, sadly.

You make a new lobby then.
That usually does the trick.

What a stupid decision to implement something like this without getting feedback from the community. BioWare knows that N7 level means next to nothing when it comes to player skill. This is just a ploy to get people to promote more characters, but I would rather stop playing this game than having to wait longer than usual and to be grouped according to a meaningless number. Again with the "fixing" things no one asked for.

That would be great, so there would be no more deaths by staying "frozen" when you are trying to revive a teammate

Not in a lot of cases, no. By setting up the system this way, they divided the playerbase up into smaller groups. It doesn't take a genius to guess that it's going to be harder to find/create a full lobby when there are less people that the game is willing to place you with.

N7-rank is meaningless in regard to player skill. It should not be used as a criterion for matchmaking.

The End.

Right now they match it way tighter. This isn't.

Besides, it doesn't HAVE to wait for those ranked N7 to begin a match. Just "more frequently". That could be 60% of the time, or 51% of the time. Whatever.

I don't matching via N7 rank. It's stupid and pointless. But if they are going to do it, here's a suggestion.

So one of the the things I have enjoyed about Multiplayer is my being paired with new players despite my having an N7 rank that is now over a thousand. I honestly enjoy playing with people who are improving with each successive match and I honestly dislike playing with groups where winning is all but guaranteed.

I also honestly love jumping into a game-in-progress. It bypasses lobby room politics, I can usually help swing things in favor of the other players, and most importantly no one goes "Good GOD look at that N7 rating" until after I've established that I've earned my rank..

For these reasons, I am against making N7 rank pairing a mandatory part of the matchmaking system. Optional, sure, but not mandatory.

Do roll back, thanks.

Yesterday I had several silver matches with two friends. We have an average N7 of 1500 and not even one person joined the game for that an hour or so. I guess it's probably because that are so few high N7 players playing silver.

Before the patch it's easy to get randoms to join. Now not so. Bad.

btw, i had one of the funniest night a couple ago with a newbie n7 30isc (I was around 450isc) in gold matches: he was green but with mics and we had a blast. I do not really care to lose at wave 7 because we die, as long as I had fun with it!!

I don't WANT a tighter match! This loose configuration is the noose being slipped over the neck. Tighten the margin, tighten the noose. Nobody lower would promote making it impossible to find anyone for those of us at a higher level.
