I did a quick test with a friend to further show how much this matchmaking change is failing.
My N7 is 990 and hers is 196. I created a public lobby with a specific setup (set enemy, map, and difficulty), had her search out for that specific setup and she could never join, even though the lobby remained empty for the entire duration of her search (for the record, before the change, we could always do that without issues). We further repeated the test three times with more different setups and nothing. Nobody joined any of the lobbies I created btw. Then she created another public lobby with a specific setup, I searched for that and could never join, meanwhile her lobby did get people joining, once again showing how it's high N7 players that are getting the worst end of the stick here.
Please, roll back this change as soon as possible, this is simply HURTING the community (especially those with high N7 levels), instead of doing anything good.
The worst part of it... aside from whenever we're in a match together and the lobby takes forever to load.... Is that the game simply thinks I'm not good enough to play with you.
Even though I would probably only have a N7 100 if it wasn't for last weekend since I never promote...

I appreciate the idea behind this. There is a problem with radically different skill and experience levels. Moaning was common enough on these forums that something being done should be applauded, even if it hasn't worked well. Making it optional does sound like a good idea though. Public, Private and N7 Matched.

otherwise when I ask for random/random I like also random people/n7... is more fun...

Not to mention the horde of threads about how N7 ranking means nothing... who's brilliant idea was it to match based on that? I feel like I've been trolled.

I havn't played since the patch. My n7 is 2,700. Does this mean I'm not going to be able to find games?
Pretty much.

Last night I kept being dumped into a White/Geth/*Bronze* lobby that just wasn't filling up. I'd quit and then be dumped back in when I next searched.
Seems as though the only way to get into a game reliably quickly is to leave lobby(after giving it a minute)/search until being dumped into a random in-progress match - but then difficulty can be unpleasant for us bronzers.

Very definitely this. At the least I'd like to see a ping time to the host in the lobby so I can find out before the game starts whether or not it'll be unplayable (and not waste some mods).Karstedt wrote...
I'd much rather be matched based on latency... I've been victim to a lot of laggy games since the patch. It sucks getting insta killed because by the time you react to the enemy, you were already killed a second ago.

Definitely this. Being in Australia pretty much any public game I join is hosted overseas, which means lag... I'd at least like to know is it going to be bearable lag or horrendeous lag before I bother playing the game...

If they're going to have some consideration of N7 rank, I suggest a host option to limit players to N7 120 and up. That would enable gold hosts to put together teams that have at least few dozen plays (or a few thousand, if they don't promote).
Waiting for lobbies to fill simply because respec cards are rare and I can't seem to settle on builds I'm happy with isn't an improvement.

Hi guys,
I will post news about this topic here:

if these changes should be rolled back.
Unless you want the mp to die, there's nothing to discuss. Change it back.

Why would BioWare do a matchmaking system based on N7 rank? Its not like the N7 rank = ELO or something...it only shows how often someone is at promoting their characters.
Exactly! I have an N7 Rating of 171 b/c I play Gold with a level 20 character, so I don't level up, thus not increasing my N7 rating.
