Anyone on the PC with the patch can attest to this fact:  Lobbies are taking a hell of a lot longer to fill up.

Why?  Matchmaking.  Every time I host a game, without fail, the people who join are within 20 or so N7 levels of me.  And that's if it bothers to fill up at all.

When I create a game with a friend or two, the other people who join will have an N7 level that's just a few ranks away from being the averaged value of my N7 level with those of my friends.

Bioware, this is NOT cool.  It is not beneficial.  Please.  Please.  Get rid of it.

I haven't noticed peeps having to be near my N7 to join my lobby's and my N7 is over 1K and yes, I do have the patch, I had to back out to dashboard and restart the game last night to get the patch before two of my freinds and I could all play together.

I didn't even realise this was part of the patch, lol.

 Oi Scylla

Thank you for the feedback and don't think twice, it must be rolled back, or the MP will loose the most dedicated guys. High N7 doesn't mean skill, but surelly mean that we like the MP and play it a lot..

I dislike this being forced upon us, although I have to say thanks to BioWare for obviously listening to what's being said on the forums and trying to correct the issues.

if these changes should be rolled back.

Unless you want the mp to die, there's nothing to discuss. Change it back.

Indeed.

Sorry, that's BS. I don't care about N7 level, I care a lot about lobby filling time. Return the old system.

Roll back or leave as optional for host to decide if possible.

If they want to change up matchmaking then they need to actually listen to what people want.

1) Option to NOT join games in progress if you don't want to.
2) Check list of what maps you DON'T want searched for (FBW for example).
3) Check list of enemies you DON'T want searched for.
4) An Option to actually search for R/R, as is Unknown Enemy/Unknown Map searches often end up as FBWGG and it can take 10-15 searches on a BAD day. Like to me today.

I agree that it NEEDS to be rolled back. The strictness of the current setup is ridiculous and leaves you spending 2x the amount of time in a lobby as you do actually playing the game.

"Roll back!"

That's a common trait of any MP game. But I doubt that Bio want/can implement all this.

I can see in competitive versus PvP games this being more relevant. But in a co-op based multiplayer game, having similar ranked players is near complete non-issue. This is compounded in ME by the fact that not everyone even promotes there characters, so N7 rank is a completely irrelevant and inaccurate way of determining player skill or experience. I'm N7 500 or so, but if I actually promoted consistently I would probably be around N7 1500. So all in all it would be best to not matchmake by N7 level, as this is just resulting in longer waiting periods with no real gain. We all just wanna get in the game and play, not wait around for players who happen to be remotely close to a pointless, inaccurate number.

really I am like a level 400 N7 and I keep getting kicked from lobbies wiht guys with like 3000 N7 levels. I always ask where do people get the freetime to become a level 100+ N7 so quickly.

This new system sure is crap, I can see the reason behind it so players aren't matched with others whom are too bad or too good for them but that does not remotely work when the quantifier is something that isn't even indicative of that. Those that choose not to promote now either get ranked with other players whom don't promote or players with far less experience than themselves.

Signed.

And IMO latency issues should be a much bigger concern than forcing players into playing with any specific group of people. Let the players decide who they do/don't want to play with.

120, 120, 199, 76, 161, 115, 283,102, 120, 150, 111, 120, 147, 128, 125, (1050, 274, 499), 119, 104, 120, 120, 120, 128, 129, 120, 108

and more laggy matches than I've ever seen before. I'm perma-120, but I'm sure you could have guessed from the pattern. Had one game which was out of place, in parenthesis, but the rest were pretty clear with only the slight exceptions of the 283 and 76.

//EDIT And in the last match, I scored 112k of 220k points, got 10 revives, went down all of once myself, and my teammates used 8 (yes, 8) rockets on friggin Silver Geth Primes.

So THIS is why I couldn't get any public games going today! I thought it was some kind of connection issue on my end at first but I started noticing the N7 rankings being around mine coming into my games and I wondered.

It's terrible. It took me a good half hour to get two others for a freakin FBWGG and I thought that non FBWGG golds were hard to get with public games before? I would bet that now it is near impossible to do public regular gold games on PS3 in this current state. Lucky that I have good crew to play gold with regularly at nights, but for those who don't or want to run pubs, finding a game is going to be an absolute nightmare with this awful matchmaking.

And I never had any problems with lower level players and possibly carrying them a bit in golds either. Wiping in a wave 9 or 10 on gold certainly beats not playing the game AT ALL for me. I guess a N7 level 20 or below strolling into gold is one thing, but that's why there is a vote system, and I understand the voting is frustrating for some but even with matchmaking kicking will still happen. And we all know that N7 rating doesn't mean jack in terms of skill anyway.

Let's hope this is fixed soon or else public games are going to be a ghost town quick
Signed for rollback :)

Okay, after much testing, I've been through at least 15 matches, all with N7 1200+ or -. Every. Single. Match. Whether it was bronze or gold. It took ages to get a team, sometimes 30 mins + if I was host. Saw the same people quite a lot as well. It was definitely harder to get a match, much harder. And the fun part was, most of the matches I joined? Were to laggy to stay a part of... N7 was prioritized over latency...

I've been seeing this since late April. What is even stranger is that many times if you cancel out and try again you will get a game right away.

Thanks for the update. At least you guys put effort into changing something people cried about (i.e. "tired of low N7 people in my matches", etc.). Unfortunately, now people are crying about said changes. Can't please everyone I guess.

Did it take longer for people to enter my lobby after the patch? Yes, but it didn't bother me. One thing I did notice was: if I joined a random lobby and the host player left before the match started, it brought me into my own lobby. Then, it seemed like the matchmaking fix didn't work, because very low N7-ranked players would come into my lobby. It didn't bother me at all though.

I think the majority of us don't mind playing with very low N7-ranked players. I actually love it. It's only those few gaming snobs (not "elitists" guys) who will judge a player based solely on a ranking.

Personally it's fine, just broaden the range up a bit. Maybe if you are 1000's, say make it 500-5000, and everything below 500 will be matched up together.

This is just retarded! Taking forever to fill up a lobby only because of N7-rating which we all know don't mean ****!

Bioware, this matchmaking system was just stupid, please give me the old one back!

I don't know if the N7 grouping is overriding my preferences, but the last 5-6 Silver match searches I've tried kept dumping me into Gold lobbies.

Kinda stupid really...this is what bronze, silver and gold settings are for not some matching system telling me who I can or can't play with. The fact that it can take up to 2 hrs to find a full group to play a single 30 mins game that could possibly disconnect at any time is warrant enough to bring back how it was.

ME3 Multiplayer does not have a large enough player base to segregate based on N7 rank, it only serves to make match finding tedious.
