The only thing I feel is missing is a link between quests and codexes (when applicable) so I dont have to go clicking through each entry to find the one relevant to the quest I am on. Just a little number reference at the bottom of the applicable codex driven quest info would help a lot.

Who knows, I may even finish Summoning Sciences if this tweak is put in place.

A. Things that I'd like improved/added:

1. Loading times.

2. Combat animation synchronization with actual events in the game mechanics.

3. The AI of the enemies. It is a cheap way to make a fight difficult by giving the enemy 1000 HP and 100 damage per hit and no strategies or clever ability usage.

4. Click response time. Why do I have to wait one or two seconds before the program understands what i click?

5. Less trivial loot. Trivial looting gets boring after a while. Loot must have to do something to do with who you are looting. Do bears carry around lyrium potions in the DA world? I'm curious!

6. More spells which will include illusions and teleportation, more warrior-rogue abilities.

7. More stamina for warriors. (6 points per level as mages.)

8. The ability to multiclass.

This for now. I bother to write all these here, because bioware games are the only games I play.

2. Companions pitching in more often to react to our choices and offer opinions/advice. Far more often. Most of the time, even in situations where I was SURE people would react, there is nothing but stony silence and the companions may as well be not there at all.

agreed.  although standing in a certain place, listening to a certain object splashdown with leliana and wynne in the background watching, is absolutely hilarious... Posted Image

1) warden armor for leather/robe wearers. different leather armor models and robes. hell, different colored leather and robes. I would give my right arm for black leather armor.

2) companions starting conversations with me

3) more weapon models

4) a way to see what item I've just received when i get a quest reward, so I don't have to search my inventory for it and try to figure out what's new. Even if it opened to the tab with the new item type I'd be happy.

Turn Warden's Keep into our actual base, rather than that camp. Give us access to the fortress, with individual rooms for the party members, a vault, etc.. Make it useful, rather than a mediocre place you rarely visit once the quest is done.

You could eventually tie other DLC/expansions into this, if done right.

There's a lot here that would make many people I guess after having seen a few similar threads. The only thing I'd add is I'd love to be able to save mid-combat. Sometimes I just don't want to go through the hassle of killing all the enemies all over again just because one of my party got whacked. Being able to save after wiping out the Revenant or whatever would make me happy since when I think I'm done is when I usually get killed.

I guess I'm not as awesome as most folk.

Would add in something else as well other than what I have already contributed with.

1. Do something about the memory leak, the game is a frigging memory sink when playing it a couple of hours load time increases rapidly.

2. Don't charge 15 dollars for something alike the Stone Prison DLC, it is not like there is 10 hours of gameplay in it, and thinking that paying 15 dollars for a character companion is rather alot.

3. Crafting recipees, make a seperate backpack for those so they do not clutter the inventory storage space to much and yet granting a better view of what you got.

4. A gem backpack would be nice as well that could alongside with runes for an instance would be very nice addon as well.

5. Bows/crossbows having actual strings, so it does not look like you are pulling an imaginary string when using those, seems like a huge error not having such.

6. Many more models for armor and weapons.

1. Customizable camera control -- I'm amazed this was omitted after the camera fiascos from NWN1/2.

2. Queuing actions -- I'm sorry but those fancy behavior trees are inadequate and party members don't properly respond to them. Single action queues result in frustrating amounts of micromanagement, which requires even more camera movement, which exacerbates issue #1.

3. Toggle on numeric descriptions -- I'm guessing the game describes a spell doing "medium damage" to make it more accessible to casual gamers, but this is highly disappointing for your core audience of hardcore CRPGers. Give me back the 8d6+10 math please.

Make the item "grab spot" bigger - it can be a pain in the @ss trying to just pick up an item off the ground; also aiming at distant enemies is a problem even when they are in bow range

If they can't fix the memory leak, at least give us an auto pause when going to new (hostile) areas
When the load times are getting long, I'll click on a location to travel to, then head for a snack - only to come back and see that my group landed in a random encounter and are all dead!!!:(

reasonably priced DLC: I will not buy unless I get at LEAST one hour of game play per dollar spent

Show Spell/Talent cool down progress even when they're not on the "task bar", but in the spell window. Can't have every spell/talent on the task bar!

Fix the DLC bug

Still, overall it is an excellent game:)

Forgot one: when you click on a dead monster to loot it, make a tap on the space bar serve as "TAKE ALL". Why do I need to move my mouse down to click on the bar labeled "TAKE ALL" about a thousand times in a game????

Very minor annoyance, but minor annoyance x 1,000 = P!SSED OFF

You can set the game to autopause at the start of combat, which is quite handy.

What do you think could be improved upon for future DLC's/Expansion Packs and/or sequels to Dragon Age: Origins?

1) Cut-scene because I found that in Mass effect that they putted more work into it, more facial expressions, etc...
2) Need more hairtstyle and eyes in the characters creators (or just lok at Aion character creator to learn a bit)
3) Make some actractive armors / dress, without needing to show the breast, just more with more style and details.
4) Need a female warrior (not a huntress or rogue, I mean a real warrior) and a male mage as companion, please.
5) Need a pet! Come on who doesn't like pet in a game wh help yu ding different things ?
6) Need some real bosses who are active in the game and just not show up at the end please.
7) Make some beter staff please, I hate to wear a sick as the most powerull staff >.<
8) Improve the relationship system and personal quest like you did in BG2 and it's expansions.
9) More ineresting sub quests (what a waste the orhenage could have been a long and cool sub quest)
10) Please get some inspirations by playing other games like asian or japanese games or mmorpgs.
11) Don't remove the pause system.
12) More companions that you date so you won' have to choose beteween the snake and the religious fanatic
13) No more sucking ritual which pop up from nowhere at the end of the game and events like that. I really prefer to understand the storyline than going, WTF ? That's not making any sense!
14) Make some interesting dunjon like the tower of Ishal, which was not to long not to short.
15) Kee french voices actors *_*
16) Codex is nice but there are too muc h informatin in it, I would rather have cut-scene in game which tell me about, it's a waste for me.
17) Make demons important and not just some random mobs who don't really have any role to play in DAO.
18) Need cut-scene beteween companions at the camp, just like with the dog but need that your choice is important (That's not turning the game into a dating sim by the way, it will just make player feel more involved with their campnions instead of just being some "npc" who follow  you or use you.)
19) Let Hero be able to kill anyone he want! (exept children I guess)
20) No, more being a grey warden in futur expansion.I would raher be random guy who will become a hero or a ****. Yes, NO more auto-hero satut in the game (like in DAO, NWN1, NWN2, Mass effect). Come on, why everyone will automaticly think that you're the savior at the begingin at the game ??  I would like to begin my journey like a normal being who will have to fight for his life first then after think if he has to get involved with good camp, or grey camp or bad camp or just kill them all and rule.

I thought Orzammar carried on for more than it should have (then again I'm no dwarven fan). There should have been puzzle-solving included and not just hack n' slash. Also the graphics look outdated, could've been revamped. However, as far as storytelling and replayability is concerned I give this game anywhere from a 9.5 to a 10. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

I'd like to see the automatic cast on target system have a disable option in the options menu (so when you select a single target spell it doesn't automatically cast it on the person you're attacking).

OK. Here goes...

1. Redo the character creator. It's the first interactive experience and should be polished. Clipping hair, bugs and so forth do not cut it. Redo character bodies so they move correctly and look in proportion. Japanese devs (& some Western devs) go out of their way and use motion sensoring to get this right.

2. Hire an artistic director. DA looks OK, but artistically it's bland. Grey, grey and more grey. With some green. Throw in some colour and exotic influences. I know Ferelden is not a beautiful place, but give it more than just stone & Tudor buildings. I want to remember Ferelden for its uniqueness, not genericness. Gear also needs sprucing up so it is more than just shabby brown leather, rusty metal and potato sacks (mage robes). Options to dye armour.

4. Spend more time on environments. Running through a brightly lit dungeon feels like someone just dumped down tunnels without thought to creating atmosphere. Come to think of it, DA lacks atmosphere in a lot of areas. Lake Calenhad was OK, but still, areas need to be improved upon.

3. Option for auto-loot.

4. Battle log.

5. Memory leak fix.

6. More icon slots. You can drag the icon bar horizontally, why not vertically?

7. Bigger inventory for those that want it.

8. Have the option to hide influence checks. Knowing reactions begs for a reload. I'd rather be surprised by how my PC has affected an NPC's influence along the line rather than knowing how much is there.

9. Realistic bleed effects. The explosions of blood were ludicrous.

10. Open up the world. Codex entries are fine, but are not a substitute to experiencing a gaming world.

11. A few more classes. Maybe a monk/bruiser type class and er... something else.

12. Online playability, like NWN.

13. Storywise, try to avoid plot holes. DA is a game for a mature audience and some people will pick up  inconnsistencies and thus the game will lose credibility with those players. It may help along story/dialogue, but a badly written story is insulting, to say the least. Gaming is far past its infancy and game writing should be a major consideration other than just providing events to drive the player forward.

There's more to whine about, nevertheless I like DA, but really can't see 5 years of work in it. I really feel short changed. I was dumped into this wonderfully created world and experienced little. And on top of that had to put up with a game that lacked polish and finesse. I really hope Bioware spits and polishes DA for expansions.

I think this would be my favorite improvement. Just some fluff really. Be able to have a big bedroom with a chest or two and Dog laying at the foot of the bed. A common room with a big roaring fire where your companions hang out, etc. Perhaps be able to hang portraits on the walls., racks of weapons, etc. Granted it is silly house play, but fluff like that can be fun and brings added attachment to the game.

-I'd like to see battles be of a bit smaller scale. A bunch of warriors rushing at you may seem a bit epic, but that dwindles when your mage just Cone of Colds them or use various others forms of widespread CC. Lesser but stronger enemies may lead to more acceptable and interesting team compositions.

-Fix the learning curve. There are those who think the game is impossible to play through, and those who think the game is impossible to fail at.

-More class diversity/flexibility: currently, Rogues and Warriors pretty much have to stick with one tree for the rest of the game. Going halfway into Sword and Board and halfway into DW provides little versatility while ditching the strengths of both. Hard to figure out how to go around this, though.

It could also be a bit more interesting to have specializations have a much bigger tree than the single line.

-More classes: Mage is quite literally a few classes simply rolled into one. This is not something that makes them OP per se, but rather makes them a much more interesting character to create since they have the most flexibly and choices in their progression.

-More appearance variety: Simply put, more weapon and armor skin diversity - especially for Mages. And let's get some more interesting and less hideous headgear, please!

i actually found very few "large, overwhelming" fights in the game, so i don't understand the reasoning for this.  do you want every battle to be a single "boss-style" opponent?

-Fix the learning curve. There are those who think the game is impossible to play through, and those who think the game is impossible to fail at.

i think they got the difficulty pretty much bang on.  there are those who are having a hard time on easy and those who are cruising through easily on nightmare, but the vast majority seem to be finding a great gaming experience on one of the four levels of difficulty that the game provides.

i don't think it can be done while maintaining any type of game balance.  sounds like you want a "dual ability character" with the full strength of both ability trees (while not suffering any minuses from training in both areas).  have you played an AW/BM yet?  too overpowered, imo.  as would be what you seem to be suggesting.  having the 2 specializations does add a bit more variety to the ability mix.

It could also be a bit more interesting to have specializations have a much bigger tree than the single line.

agreed!

mages definitely have the most choices available to them, but they will suffer from spreading out their abilities too much just like any other class.  i would like to see a monk class as previously suggested.

-More appearance variety: Simply put, more weapon and armor skin diversity - especially for Mages. And let's get some more interesting and less hideous headgear, please!

oh!  yes, please!

I frankly dont give a rats ass about what DLCs do. I dont even care for the free ones.

Expansions, they should of course give new adventures. I think the main story is a closed one and therefore any Addon should be like the NWN2 ones - you start a new adventure elsewhere in the gameworld, with a new character.

Such an expansion should of course come with new content, i.e. new monsters, areas, people etc.

Dunno what should be done about the rulesystem really. Some larger changes to make it more customizeable would not be so bad. Right now the variance between two Warriors or two Rogues is rather limited. Well, I always said that three base classes wasnt really my ideal idea of a rulesystem - and I think I got proved right. Mage works though.

I think specializations should give at least 3 new specialization trees. And the whole idea of Warrior/Rogue forced to choose a weapon style needs some thought really. I would highly prefer it if we had some more general choices to make.

Warden's Keep needs to be party member swappable after it is cleared. If Orzammar is swappable, then why can't the Warden's base be?

Be able to switch party members in and out would make the storage chest and merchants much more useful and not alter game balance at all.

If I was allowed to change anything with Dragon Age, here is what I would have done...

Forget the likes of Morrigan, Allister etc. What I would have done was made each of the origins fit into 1 story. This way you create 6 characters of mixed gender(if you wish) and each of them would have different skills which you would decide is best for each quest.

So you basically play each origin until at the end of all six, you finally all meet up at Ostagar and Duncan sends you on the Darkspawn blood vial quest.

The reason I would have done it this wa is because I hated all the characters except for the dog and Shale, everyone else was just a whining scrotum-pole. This way I could have created 6 characters and chose who would romance with who depending how they talk to each other and if they get along.

For an RPG there really wasn't alot to do in the game. Don't get me wrong, I do not mean the amount of quests was lacking, but more along the lines of fun things to do. For example : Redcliffe. It would have been super groovy if you could just break away from going straight to the next mission, and instead so a spot of fishing for a type of mini-game. Or perhaps certain members of your group can swim and go treasure hunting in the lake. Just  more fun things to do would have been a nice touch.
