I can't blame a virtual character for not being useful.Mcfly616 wrote...

Liara was also written to be the Shadow Broker. Regardless of how it was written, it's still a fact of the game that Traynor provides more intel then the Broker. Shame really...IoCaster wrote...

Not that I'm a big fan of Liara or anything, but this got annoying by the halfway point of the game.
EDI: "Shepard, let me assure you that SPC. Traynor is spectacularly awesome.
EDI: "Have you noticed how spectacularly awesome SPC. Traynor is, Shepard?<_<
Well, Tranor *was* a better information broker than Liara. It was no secret Liara was an Information Broker on Illum but too many in ME3 know she's the Shadow Broker.
I like Liara, I like all the characters to degrees, there isn't one that I can point to and say "I don't like this one." Sure I have my favorites and hate they don't get as much screen time as Liara. That's the devs not Liara.
Traynor was written as a better source of info in the game. Then they made sure to have EDI remind you at every turn.
Do you think that is Liara's fault? Or the writers?
Oh.....you're right about one thing though....it was a shame.....I was annoyed by Traynor the moment I saw her....
Liara not being an effective Shadow Broker is just part of her lousy, Mary-Sue (if you haven't read the scene notes for her entrance - look them up - it's terrible) writing. I loved Traynor don't get me wrong but Liara's writer should have been a little more concerned about her job as a Shadow Broker and not as Shepard's therapist/stalker/unrequited love interest. I loved LotSB and was dispointed that it wasn't utilized at all really.
