Thank you! Subscribing to this thread; I'm very curious to see if the same happens with Kaidan.

This is f*cking creepy. This is obviously no glitch or accident or a case of lasiness. Somone planted her ghost there only if she died.

Wondering, is this an import? If so, from 1 or 2? And you're sure Ashley is dead?

They probably just used her model as a figure for the background, figured nobody would really look into it that closely.

It's the way the cutscenes work, basically. Trick angles and such.

... perhaps suggesting, buggy game?  As in, for some reason, if Ashley is the VS she shows up through a mix up in coding, while Kaidan is nowhere to be seen on the alternate playthrough.

I have to say, though.  Her positioning is eerie.

I would have loved the devs planting in creepy stuff like dead squad mates subtly appearing out of shepard's mental issues.
Just like Fight Club, where the you could go back and catch the hidden goodies.

Laziness. Also, it's a place holder for the scene. If Ashley is alive the game uses said model.

I think it is a glitch. The fact that she looks exactly as she would in ME3 in this particular moment in the game -- armor, hair, and bruise -- kind of makes the me think that it wasn't intentional or meant to suggest/remind Virmire.  If Bioware really did want to send a message, they would have not only included Kaidan... but also place the dead squaddie in the armor that Shepard remembers them in.  How could he possibly have any idea of how Ashley circa-ME3 would look?

The video used to demonstrate this is not from the op's game, so this obviously has happened to more people...:?

And we learn why kaiden isn't on the stretcher. The camera just moved over his floating body for the illusion.

Surely they would have used the same position for both of the unused models, though? I mean, if kaiden is successfully hidden from view it's a weird bug that put's ashley visible and standing on the floor.

I agree. It is too creepy for that. Do we know if the same thing happens with her alive and Kaidan dead?
