Well, considering the fact that I don't consider mocking people's opinions to be funny, I guess I failed. Oh well.
It has always been possible for people's opinions to be stupid. I can't think of any philosopher who has said that an opinion is a sacred thing. Opinions are a person's best guesses at interpreting the world. They can change over time, be discarded, be adopted, be subscribed to.
Opinions are fair game for satire. This is one way of getting people to change their stupid opinions. Of course, satire doesn't work on people who have no sense of humour. Basically, the only way to reeducate them is with bricks and baseball bats.
