"Origin (EA) is no longer running. Mass Effect 3 will now close."
I've seen this message every time I try to boot up the game at the menu that normally says press any key to continue.
I don't think this is quit the same as the issues others were having as they seemed to be able to get to the menu screen but had issues with dlc and multiplayer.
Origin is clearly running and my online connection is also working. I haven't changed my firewall settings and it doesn't work to go into offline mode.
I am particularly concerned about this because the only other references to this problem I have found were on game Faqs web site and basically said that when this happens your hosed. No one who has this issue has yet to resolve it in the two months they say it's been floating around.
And EA and origin have not responded to posts regarding this issue with anything specifically about how to fix it or whether it can be fixed.
Can anyone shine some light on this? Has anyone done a body count to see how many users are experiencing this problem?

Um. Guys.
Dead game here. Would like to play the game I paid 120 dollars for. My entire Origin Ea network is a brick and I know other people who have tried everything and still can't make anything work.
I think this deserves an awnser from a tech guy at the minimum.

I just deleted Origin and ME3 form my game computer and reinstalled and the rebooted. I still have the same problem.
Is something going on with origin?
I know a few people fixed the problem when they found that their internet security was blocked but I didn't recognize some of the programs they were talking about.
If someone could provide a list of programs that were interfering with the game and how thy turned them off I could see if I have the same.
And didn't someone say they fixed it by reinstalling origin client? I looked for that on the origin web site and a few others but couldn't find anything specifically called "origin client" can anyone point me in a different direction.

Uh. Right. So I changed my security settings and no dice at first. But for some reason when I reinstalled Origin I didn't have it activate automatically at boot up. Now I go back and change the security settings in a different order and suddenly it works.
I got rid of all restraints on Origin and ran it, then on Origin client, and then on mass effect 3 itself. Then I closed them all and booted them all back up and it ran fine. Ultimately the same settings as before but changed in different order without the program running and then while it's running.
I'm glad it's working again but what in the name of Bazuzu is going on here. I'll see if the guys on the other forums can get theirs working this way.
