[GUIDE] How to get your Commendation Pack

If you haven't received your Commendation Pack and want to contact EA Support you have come to the right place.

DON'T LET THE SIZE OF THIS POST DISCOURAGE YOU! THE PROCEDURE IS REALLY QUICK AND PAINLESS.

If you want to contact EA support via phone or via live chat, follow this guide up until step 12 and choose one of those two options instead of email.
If they are unavailable to you (i.e. greyed out), keep following the guide to contact Support via mail.

First of all a few pointers:
1) This is the phone number of the UK EA Support. Use it if you really want to use the phone call option but it's greyed out for you in the Support page and don't want to use chat or mail: 0870 2432435 (credit goes to Councilworker).
2) If you, at one point of the procedure are told you need to create a "master ID", do it with the same credentials you use on Origin, or whatever equivalent on console you used for your online pass. There is also a little "Register" button in the login screen, shown in step 02. Also check out the suggestion by DragonRacer few points below this (credit goes to DragonRacer).
3) Be sure to check the original guide, it has more insight about the "master ID" thing, among the others. You may want to check the posts after the guide in the same thread, too.
4) If you are experiencing the "service temporarily unavailable" problem follow this suggestion from DragonRacer:

I had that same problem. Instead of going straight to the "Help" EA URL, go to ea.com. Log in from THERE with your EA account address and password, and it should take you to a page wanting you to set up a "Master" name. Do that, and you're logged in. From there, you can go to the help/contact us portion of the site. Try logging in again and it should work and no longer give you the "service temporarily unavailable" message.

And here is the new one:

EACH STEP PROVIDED HERE IS A LINK TO A SCREENSHOT OF WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE.

01) Go to the EA Support website. The address is https://help.ea.com/. Once the page has finished loading, you can find the login in the top right corner. Follow it.

02) A login screen will pop up.
Input your login information, the mail address and password are those of your Origin ID. If you are on Xbox 360 or PS3 and can't log in, follow the instructions of the guide or follow DragonRacer's advice at the beginning of this post.

03) If the login screen seems stuck, just refresh the page and you should be in.

04) This is what you see if your location isn't in the US.
In this example, since I'm Italian, I'm redirected to the Italian Support page. Do not despair if you don't understand foreign languages, we're gonna fix it in the next step.

05) Scroll down to the bottom fo the page, and you'll find the location selector on the right.

06) Select United States. It doesn't matter where you live, we're gonna use the US support.

07) Follow the Contact Us link on the right.

08) This is where most people have problems. There is no scrolldown selection popup, you have to type the name of the game.

09) Start typing "Mass Effect 3" (without quotes) and a selection of games will appear. You can see in the image I didn't capitalize the first letter, if it doesn't work for you try typing in capitals.
You have 3 choices here, you have to select:
1. If you have the regular digital or retail version of the game;
2. If you have the boxed Collector's Edition of the game;
3. If you, like me, have the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.

10) Choose "Game Play/In Game" in the new Category section that appears after you select your game.

11) Choose your platform in the selection box that appears on the right.

12) Now scroll to the bottom of the page and select the method you want to use. As you can see, the other two options are greyed out for me as for many others.
Now, if you select phone call or live chat you should be all set and ready to go. If instead you want to use email, (or more likely, HAVE to resort to email) keep reading.

13) A form will appear. Your first and last name should be already in the boxes, here I obscured mine.

14) Compile the form with the information below.
In the "Subject" field type:

Operation SHIELDWALL Commendation Pack missing.


In the "Description of the issue" field type this. SUBSTITUTE THE PARTS IN RED WITH YOUR OWN INFO:

Greetings,

I am one of the many unlucky players who did not receive their Commendation Pack for Operation [NAME OF OPERATION HERE].

I followed the guidelines for the Operation, data tracking is enabled in my settings and I completed the objectives needed within the timeframe of the event.

Therefore Im asking You to help me and manually add a Commendation Pack to my account.

Thank You in advance for Your assistance,
[YOUR FIRST NAME] [YOUR LAST NAME]

Notice the "Sub Category" field I have highlighted, we're gonna use it next.

15) Select "Prizes" in the "Sub Category" field.

16) Hit the "Submit" button.

Or call the customer support during the day if you have the ability/time. I did, and three minutes later I got my commendation pack. Silly that we have to worry about this at all though.

Yes, but not everyone has that option. As you can see in step 12, both live chat and phone call are unavailable to me.

My 2 cents to people having troubles with greyed out form. Im on Xbox i didnt have to sign up for a seperate origin account i simple loged in with my EA account. The contact me page got as far as the product but would show nothing once i typed in mass effects and would kick me back to the main page if i typed and then pressed enter. I just tried it 3 or 4 times and eventually the system picked up i was trying to type in mass effects and then the options became clear.

Lucky you. And when I do the same it sends me to customer support of my region which tells me they can't directly interfere and suggest that I wait for auto distribution. And yes, It's also noted in my forum signature.

Edit: I did not try it again after shieldwall, since talking to support after exorcist gave the full and clear 'get lost' picture.

If you want to give it a go now, be sure to contact the US support. That's the advantage of mailing. You can contact them instead of dealing with your local support.

Issues fixed, helpful assistant, good thread. Though sad question remains - why wouldn't the local support hint me this when I was raping their eyes via email and ears via telephone. Missed pack from exorcist - deadline failed, got eagle for shieldwall. Guess if any of the support staff found my behavior annoying - this twist of fate is a just revenge )

Someone needs to sticky this. Knowing how blind people are, they'll still start a gazillion rage threads and question threads about this. Meh, still better to sticky and eliminate half of those threads.

I used the american live chat without problems, for the second time in three squad goals i completed LOL. God save the live chat!

Sooo something I learned yesterday... you have to have the date feedback upload turned on, under Options -> Online. Otherwise you no qualify for pack.

I was saddened to learn this as I had turned that off back when the servers were all down.

Hi zerozen, thanks for the guide. I also used the live chat (I'm from Germany) and the friendly EA guy manually added the Recommendation Pack for me. Didn't even take more than 3 minutes. Kudos.

On a side note, I did try to write an email to EA Germany yesterday but haven't got any reply until now.

Thanks for the mini-guide zerozen00. It was very helpful.
I ended up being able to contact support by chat. A nice supporter provided me with my Recommendation Pack. Another damn Eagle! I now have an Eagle III ;(

Weirdly enough I was unable to contact support when I tried myself, but the option became available as I was following guide.

I just updated the guide with more and new detailed info, a nice workaround for the "service temporarily unavailable" thing (courtesy of DragonRacer), and corrected some errors.
