@ShepN7: thanks again.

I'm delaying an update to the guide until I get a response from support about the "service temporarily unavailable" issue. Since editing the post always messes up formatting, colors, links and bbcode strangely, you can understand I prefer to do an edit only when there is a big update coming.

Just contacted support via telephone. The representative told me that it is a known issue (duh) and that they are working hard to correct it. Furthermore, I was told that they are not awarding packs manually and that I have to wait for the mass corrective action they will be making at some indeterminate point in the future. I feel like I was lied to by the representative for sure, based on all of the posts here claiming they were sent packs right away. =(

@mrfridays: of course they know about the issue, I've been buggering them for days now and they still refuse to give me a working solution for a simple problem on their end. At times I feel like they're working against us, dammit...

Anyway, you should try contacting support again, this time via mail. This way you'll probably get a more savvy and friendly operator. Also, once you're logged in, check this page to see if you have other cases opened.

Thanks. I followed your instructions and did live chat. Got my comendation pack within about 3 mins. Got Crusader II

Thank you so much for this guide. Without it I probably would have just whined on the forums a bit. Instead I contacted support using the web chat option using the instructions at the top. The guy was very nice, fixed the problem and then told me to go check to make sure I had my pack while he waited. I walked over to my XBOX and it was there! The whole process took less than 5 minutes.

Of course I got an Eagle II for my trouble, but hey, that's random for you. :)

Thanks, everyone. A major revision of the guide is underway. I will also modify the blurb text to encompass a broader range of operations (i.e. "One text to fit them all").

For completing the objectives for certain events, individual players can receive a Commendation Pack...

It's all there, you just have to read it.

This doesnt work. I sent in 2 Support and got bull s*** responces from EA. One asked for all details which I provided in responce which was then never reresponded too. The 2nd was just told to f*** off your out of time.

I cba with it and wont be doing this weekends event and the bitter taste might make me take a break for while.

I sent my email 2 EA yesterday & got my response within 24hrs. However, THIS is what they had 2 say.....

"Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. I am grateful for giving me an opportunity to review your case, I have reviewed your e-mail and understand that you didn't received the commendation pack in the game 'Mass Effect 3'.

Basically, there is no commendation pack at this time. Had it been possible I definitely provide you the commendation pack. If you have any further questions please reply to this email or visit our extensive knowledge base online at http://help.ea.com."

So wtf? I completed the challenge correctly, just like MANY of my friends, and out of all of us, only ONE received a commendation pack. I have been patient, I've waited a week, but this is ridiculous. Someone needs 2 give us some answers about what is going on. These problems have persisted long enough. DON'T have specialty weekends if you can't award the player appropriately!

It does. Look at most of the messages in this thread. Or in this one. Or in this other one.
You just can't wait a week to claim your Commendation Pack, you have to do it the same week it is handed out normally. Commendation Packs have an expiration date, you know?

Yep I gotthe same thing despite having it be 2nd time.

Don't give up though. Next thursday they should be able to hand out again. Just send them the current case ref and details and hope you dont get another autoresponce 2$ an hr fool answering.

I'll try to convince them to hand out packs from past operations, or at least from the last one.
I mean, what about console users who don't participate here on BSN and don't read the blog?
Is it stated anywhere in game that they have to contact support if they don't receive their packs and have to do it within the week? No.

I got caught out by the 'pack expiry window'.

I sent my EA 'no pack' e-mail at the weekend after the pack didn't drop mid-week.
Then I got an e-mail reply to say it was 'fixed'.

"Basically, I have done some manual changes in your account and added the required entitlements. Please login into your account and let me know the issue still persists."

Great. - But it didn't work!  So I sent another e-mail and by the time that was replied to the pack has expired.

"Please let me clarify that we are not having codes to provide the access of Operation Shieldwall Commendation Pack on your account. I really want to assist you, but nothing can be done in the issue. The promotional offer has expired. I apologize for the previous response from our end."

Disappointing, I promoted 6 characters - and the 'nothing can be done' response lacked a sense of taking of ownership from the Customer Services team.

If it happens again, I will be more prompt with my action, using this guide (above).

Thinking about using this if I don't get it for Mastiff, but I don't actually remember how many extractions I had. : /
