June 2012 Custom Content Challenge: Animal!

1) Make existing models more dynamic (more emote-wand friendly with more moves than roar/play dead)
2) Make better models of animals that have already been done (elephant (Mammoth?), hoppi, dolphin, whale, camel, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, swans, pigs, goats, sheep, flamingoes, rabbits, ostriches, kangaroos - just to name a few).
3) for birds, adjust the 'flight height' of existing bird models so that you will now have 'Seagull - flying high' as well as the current seagull 'flying low').
Other random suggestions: hedgehogs, porcupines, lemurs, meercats, seals, 'swimming penguins' (for underwater areas), giant butterflies, peacocks, ****rels (to supplement the hen-looking chicken model), pheasants, koalas and kiwies).

If I'm allowed I might rip some of the familiars out of my haks, fix them up a bit and post those up too. Not sure if the vault already has bunnies and stuff. :x

Other thoughts I have had:
Normal sized rats
Small cats that look like house cats and not just a resized big-cats (small cats walk with their head up, big cats with their heads low and forward)
Small snakes (of the critter variety, that will act like snakes and flee, not attack, on sight)
Goats (regular farm-sized and 'Tanngrisnir & Tanngiost'-sized)
Stork/egrett/cranes/flamingo/etc... at least one if not a variety of long legged birds, both regular large versions would be fun
Mountable and pack animals...

Ooh! Could you do a Teddy Bear guardian?! Carcerian put up this pic and I *want* that cute little bundle of fluffy defense =)Rubies wrote...
I'm going to do a bunch of little cute animals. Because NWN doesn't have enough cuteness. Aside from my vast array of Hello Kitty-themed spells. But those don't count.

BTW, did somebody mention deer?

Anims based on BioWare deer model. Skin mesh and texture from RigsArena. Time spent on rigging is about four and a half hours so far. This one was extremely difficult and will probably blow up on me again before I'm done. Model size is just 111k, texture is 256x256. If there are any texture artists who would like to take a crack at reskins, the base texture is on the link to RigsArena. I only shrank it down to 256x256.

The mesh is a bit high in the poly area tho (40k vs hydromancers elephant of 883 polys)

The speckled ones are the young though (out here anyway). Please include one without horns as well as one with. Could be otherwise identical.

Deer is such a 'staple' spawn on most mods/PWs it would be great to finally have a decent looking one.
Spotted deer are native to India and look almost exactly like what OTR did.
Carcerian: the peacocks look good too.
*stops trying to think of whether it would be possible to do one with a animates folding tail...*

For the bargian price of only $149.00 its all yours
Or If you prefer one that works in real life (for all you steampunk-clockwork-lovers)
"The Magnificent peacock Automataon"

That one might cost a tad moreThis truly astounding automaton depicts a life-sized peacock with a fanned-out tail spanning over 7 feet.
From the auction listing:The maker is unknown and no other examples of this model are known to exist! The size, age, condition, superb construction, and uniqueness set the estimated value of this automaton between $50,000 and $75,000 USD..The peacock begins its grand performance in the tail-down position, regally he turns his head and body separately from side-to-side. then he proudly raises his elegant tail plumage and fans his tail out for the fullest effect. The bird then turns side-to-side again, such that all can appreciate his beauty. At the conclusion, he lowers his tail back down in a graceful and realistic manner. All the while, music plays.

A rather colorfull little fellaWow, nice links! Amazing stuff.:tu: In the article though, I never saw any reason why they say there may be 750,000 new species. Is it just to make it a nice even (Dr. Evil) 1 MILLION species!? ... Or is it just a guess? Not that I necessarily agree or disagree, just wondering.
(peacock Mantis Shrimp? Seriously? freakiest thing I've ever seen. Love it!)

Will do
peacock source model was the walking white parrot from Birds, modded from 1.69 seagulls. (c_a_chicken based)

And I'm totally making a teddy bear guardian based on the teddy I've had since I was a baby (and the same teddy who's keeping me company at the moment)!
PS: That deer is one of the cutest things I've ever seen!
