Hi im looking for games which are very simialar to the Mass Effect Series.

I have played through the interactive backstory comic for the first one on ps3, but never got to play mass effect 1 itself as i dont have a xbox.

I also just finished Mass Effect 2 which I have to say is now my favourite game ever made peroid! Posted Image

I also just bought Mass Effect 3, which I cant wait to play.

But the question im asking is, is there any games out there for PS3 which are similar to the Mass Effect Series.

I love the decesion making aspect of the game in particular, along with the amazing story and the extremely long singleplayer which I got 60 hours out of on veteran difficulty on the first playthrough, so any suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks everyone

Alot of people say dragon orgins but had a look at review and dont think fantasy rpg is my sort of thing.

If interactive narrative and good story-telling are your goal, you can look at earlier Bioware games. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and Dragon Age: Origins. Alternatively, setting-wise, Deus Ex and its prequel Human Revolution are both excellent.

I don't know how well Dragon Age: Origins runs on PS3. It's a splendid game by BioWare though gameplay and setting differs much from Mass Effect series. But the decision making is similiar though much deeper. You have much more different choices per situation and I think the adventures in the game just connects much better than for example in ME2. But if you're not interested in fantasy rpg that is more strategical than Mass Effect then I think you'd like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I haven't played the game (yet) but I believe it's a scifi shooter with rpg elements, much like Mass Effect.

Star Control 2 has a very Mass Effect-like universe going on. But it was released in 1992, so it depends on whether you're a person who can't appreciate old games.

Alpha Protocol - now that you need to check. It's a really great game, unfinished, but who cares about bugs, broken gameplay etc. when story is so great and choices matter so much :) Also - great dialogue system.

Witcher 2 - yeah, not sci-fi, but dialogue heavy, dark setting rpg with some humor and big choices

Game of Thrones - no idea, looks kinda ok'ish, will check it later

Deus Ex 3 - no need to explain, it's great, but gets kinda boring in the middle. Also - check ending and guess what it looks like.

Have fun!

Have you checked the Fallout series?

I have not played it myself, but my friend has,
keeps on saying how awesome it is.

Fallout 3 and Fallout Brotherhood are not that great though.
The other ones are amazing.

I've played Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Both excellent games, and both have final outcomes based on your choices.

There's really isn't many games that's the same as Mass Effect, you can find many shooters in space and also a good deal of roleplaying games where your choices matter but none really which has the high quality the Mass Effect series has.

Deus ex human revolution is quite similar. You make decisions and it is sci-fi. Also it is awesome. Not quite as good as the mass effect series, but it is still brilliant.

The only scifi rpg anywhere near ME is Knights of the Old Republic on the old XBox/PC which is about 10 years old now(?).

Dragon Age is sort of 'fantasy lite' and I know people who aren't normally fans of the genre enjoy it. It's mainly the same adventures and character interaction you experienced in ME2. Give it a go! :)

It is kind of depressing how few and far between these type of games are, especially when you see how many units they sell.

I was hoping for a ME game as well, but sadly, there is none. At least there are 3 of ME, all which I enjoy.

I have Deux Ex, I thought I would like it, but sadly I don't.

I hope there is a ME4.

Alpha Protocol.

An unpolished gem of a game.

The hacking minigame in it seriously sucks (and almost put me off from completing even the tutorial level), but I persevered and loved the game when I got to the different theaters and you could really feel the effect your choices were having (even as far as having which order you did stuff in matter).

You need to realize when playing it, though, that unless you equip a shotgun, you need to spend serious time aiming each shot to do any damage. It makes the gameplay slightly slower in combat, which some people really hate for some reason.

The final outcomes in F3 were poorly executed though.

Anyway to keep on topic:
-Alpha Protocol
-DA:O
-KOTOR
-Dues Ex (1) or Dues Ex:HR
(I'm sure there is more though)
EDIT: Lets not forget The Witcher 2 :pinched:

I just use the Chain Shot power all the time; it's hilarious how OP it is. Especially makes boss fights a cakewalk, even on Hard.

Well I just remembered I was slightly wrong too. The SMG increased damage the more targets you hit with sprays, but as I never used the smgs myself I wouldn't know how effective they actually are :D

pretty much all the 'special shot' skills for each weapon type seemed powerfull, though.
