It's not that weapons suck, it's that they improve power damage by 90%. I can kill at least 2 cannibals (and leave a third one badly damaged) with a Phaeston clip, but then a GI comes to a spawn, shoots a proxy mine and... and then there is nothing left because he oneshotted all the Cerberus troops.
How are you killing 2 cannibals and badly damaging a third with one clip on Gold?
I don't think Gold should be the sole point of balancing, but considering only 9 or so weapons are even near useful on that mode is a bit ridiculous, some such as the Valient solely on that damage bonus from Infiltrators. Ever use a BW with a Krogan Soldier on Gold? Body shots are pathetic and sometimes headshots don't put them down.
Just lower the damage bonus a bit. Don't remove it. Infiltrators are not invincible when cloaked, and are often spotted still, whether by getting too close or by random chance. A good infiltrator will focus on objectives and revive, not camp and try to top everyone. The damage bonus is just that: a bonus. It's nowhere near the focus.
And I love how everyone is whining how an infiltrator is on top of a scoreboard that doesn't even matter.

So the soldier just has to deal with having the bad weapons?
So the soldier having bad weapons means the infiltrator must be nerfed? lol...
How about asking for some weapon buffs instead? I'm guessing you are refering to assault rifles? Because I know when I play my Human Soldier with a Claymore he is a killing machine, same as my Batarian Soldier.

... just lol. Then what is the point of the other classes? The only ones that rival the potential of infiltrators when it comes to obliterating the enemies are biotics, and they usually need a team built around them to be at their peak (which is higher when coordinated, as shown by some of the best players).
I told you the balance is broken from the start. So for now, other classes a support
If you ask me, here should be only 3 classes
A mix of soldier/infiltrator ; adept/vanguard ; engineer/sentinel ;

So I'm a little confused. I played as my Infiltrator last night (post patch on xbox) and the enemies didn't see me when I cloaked. Are you guys talking about just carrying the objective when you can't be invis or all the time? Multiple times last night I'd cloak and enemies couldn't find me. It seems to be working fine for me. If it's just the escort objective where I can't be invis I'm ok with that ... even when it is annoying at times.
There seems to be an inconsistency on enemies viewing you or not. Most enemies shouldn't be able to see you at a distance, even boss enemies. However, especially with Reapers, cloak doesn't seem to always work how it should and suddenly you have Marauders and Ravagers raining pain on you when you're trying to accomplish the 4-stop objective.

Always right? Numbers are easy: TC gives a 165% extra damage on every sniper shot, which are already the best weapon class in the game. It negates any effect on weight, something no other class has, and to top it all they have some of the best movesets. It would be clear to any designer that it needs a nerf, or the rest of the classes (with the possible exception of adepts) be buffed, which would in turn cry for another extra difficulty level because for every gold-standard player (or people like me, who almost always plays silver but can hold a Gold match) the current levels would be one step too low in difficulty.
EDIT:

First things first: Headshots. You put the Phaeston as an example, and with passives, +25% damage from EB and headshots (which it gets easily, if not every shot most of them) you can do it.
I play mostly silver, and I can't solo it without a)infiltrator (GI trivializes anything ) or b)Kroguard, and that is because it takes me twice the time it takes with the infiltrator. I am not crying for a OMG NERFBAT THE CLOAK TO THE GROUND nerf, I am asking for ONE of the following:
- No minimum CD applied. Make your TC-powered shots count.
- No power damage bonus (akin to AR, only a weapon damage boost, you retain your single enemy capabilities but can't roflstomp spawns just with a single power)
- Reduction of the extra damage to 100% including the last level, something like 40%-30%- and another 30% for snipers.
I personally would prefer one of the two first options, because IMO Infiltrators should be damn good at killing priority targets.
And some weapons would love a buff too, specially the automatics, although they are not as bad as a lot of people say they are.
Hope I made myself clear.

Interesing because last night I recall getting reapers a few times and it seemed ok. But if it's really not for everyone that sucks and needs to be fixed i think.

It may have to do with being in view of the enemies, lag that you're already getting shot at before the host knows that you've cloaked...not too sure. 98% of the time I don't have a problem, but there will occassionaly be a point where a few of the enemies don't get the hint. However, getting too close will get you spotted no matter what, and I think a lot of people don't seem to realize that.

I really don't see the fuss. A good enough player will always keep up in score with even the best Infiltrators. Just because Infiltrators are the easiest to be good with doesn't mean they are over powered.

Also, enemies will keep shooting at the last spot they saw you, so you should cloak on the run. Well, that happens with any class, I have had solo runs with a vanguard or soldier, and in FBW some Marauders were shooting up the staircase when I was in the farming room:whistle:
EDIT: @Krade2k20: I feel for you man, I have a Hurricane II and it tears things apart on my TS.

And the majority isn't saying ,uch so far. Those guys will cry out too loud and maybe Bioware will pay heed to them and do something stupid like nerfing the infiltrator. That's why we need counter-nerf threads.IAMREALITY wrote...
