Got my Adept today and after I saw the posts about Fitness being bugged I now understand why I was getting downed so quick, it is definitely broken and not working as it should. It makes me feel the Phoenix it is more squishy then a Drell. This is terrible for a class that need to be in the frontline combat with a power so slow to trigger like the Smash.

That is worrying. I think I'd better confirm to see for myself but the video tastes legit.

If this is the case then maybe the Phoenix's are quite viable. Just got the short end of the stick with this bug.

Good Grief!

Bioware,

Just fire your QA team and pay some college kids to do their job. It cant be any worse right?

And the Battlemaster and Justicar from the first DLC still are not fixed yet. What gives?

So that's why I died so much when playing phoenix vanguard. I was starting to think it was because I simply just suck at this game.Posted Image
I guess it doesn's surprise me to see bioware/ea's QA team has again failed at doing their jobs. The again you would've thought that if you spent tens of millions of dollars on developing a game, it would have a tighter QA process.

They obviously only test things on Bronze. And if it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb then it must be working as intended.

Seriously, the QA for this game is among the worst I've ever seen. Especially patch 1.03's fixes that actually fixed... nothing of any worth fixing.

I have definitely noticed this as well. I played a few games with my Drell vanguard after using the PV and I could swear my Drell could take more of a pounding.

Yes, I to have noticed the phoenix characters seem to be made of wet tissue paper. Trust me I play A LOT and usually always host my own games so I can start without waiting for my lobby to fill. I was instantly shocked at how infinitely squishy these two classes are, even when played very defensively .

I thought the same thing. He definitely does not have the same amount of hit points as listed.

Hmm, i thought this too, but i still play him very effectively on gold, but now i know why i sometimes instantly get taken down after charging, will have to respec for melee

This is a pity, but at least you can have no regrets about speccing for melee. Lash > heavy melee is a hilarious and effective combination.

I'm not so sure anymore. I did some more testing on bronze. A human soldier/vanguard/whatever with 500 worth of shields loses more of them than a Phoenix specced for 700 when hit by an assault trooper's melee attack. Tried several times and came to the same conclusion every time. Would like to hear if others have done some testing and what they found out. I still feel something is off with the durability of the Phoenix classes.

Bumping because I just noticed this. I don't have the final Fitness evolution, but I didn't believe for a second that I had as much health as the game said I had. Granted, I was spoiled after having played a Vorcha the game before, but Assault Troopers on Silver were taking down my shields and getting to my health in a burst or two. I was mad that people kept having to revive me, and that I was useless against armored targets (more a criticism of the terrible Adept than anything).

After reading this thread, I respecced my adept from full-fitness to 66653, those 3 ranks are only there on the off-chance that everyone on this thread might be wrong, and rank 6 of operative wasn't all that useful anyway.

Rest assured, I didn't die any more than with full fitness, in fact, it played out a lot better since I didn't feel tempted to charge, expected to be squishy, and even that maxed singularity is pretty good sometimes.

There's really no point in playing the vanguard however until they fix this.

I play it a lot on silver and even I noticed this. I don't die that much, because of all the charging I do. But still, the speed at which a simple cannibal can take down your shields is ridiculous.

Maybe I'll re-spec him for melee damage and see if I notice any differences. At least it'll be a fun challenge to play while they fix it...

Have to be pretty committed to that, knowing BioWare it will be at least 2 months before they even try to fix it, then most likely they will fail at fixing it and just edit it out of the patch notes when they realize they didn't succeed.

That explains a hell of a lot. He's definitely as squishy as the drell if not squishier, and I thought the busted rage on the battlemaster was bad. This is worse if not just as bad.

Quoting myself because I still would like to hear from others who have done some actual testing.

ok so i read through this entire thread and i am still kind of confused. from the sounds of it the fitness upgrades don't increase the shields and health like they should, but the part i am confused by is if the base health and shields (500/500) are also glitched. i play a phoenix adept on silver pretty often with everything maxed except fitness and it doesn't seem like he dies any easier than any of the other classes with 500/500 health and shields

Currently it is all just observation. We'll probably need more people to test it to be 100% sure that PV fitness shield upgrade is bugged.  I guess if you are constantly behind cover it wouldn't make that much of difference whether you have 500 or 825 shield.

i've never really done any testing like some of the people on here clearly have, but when i used the vanguard with maxed fitness for shields and health it did seem like he died really easily. this was just through normal gameplay though, so it's just an observation. i'm still not sure though, are you saying that the 500/500 is incorrect too? or just anything above that due to fitness or equipment?

Be grateful for shield gate or else nemesis and rocket troopers will blow your face off.
Shame grenades bypass shield gate...

At least Cerberus adept with fitness 6, cyclonic I and Stronghold Package V (the new rare gear, 20% shields, 10% regen) took as much hit from the bronze Rocket Trooper as Alliance Vanguard with same gear and equipment.

I noticed this as well. I was running 6-6-6-5-3 on my vanguard, my friend was running 6-6-6-0-6 on his, he was just as squishy as me. The only real difference I saw was that I could take ravagers down with 2x smash, he had to hit them 3 times with smash. (Silver.)

A completely unrelated question;
Has anyone noticed that some enemies shoot through (thin) walls/cover these days?
At first I thought it was just me, but other people said they noticed the same thing lol.
