Seriously, this would be like a "shut up and take my money" thing for me. I hate the combat and inventory of the first game, but I suffered through it because I liked the story and characters so much. The second and third games removed all of those frustrations, resulting in some of the most enjoyable game experiences I've ever had. If BioWare were to update ME1 with 3's mechanics and inventory (maybe textures too, but not strictly necessary), I would genuinely be interested in paying real money for that.
Please, BioWare? PLEEEEEAAAAASE?
Could BioWare update the ME1 engine and re-release it?

Could? Yes. Will? No. I give it about as much chance as Games Workshop rereleasing 40K 2nd edition.
I didn't hate the inventory, but I do thing that the game could have done with an 'omnigel all' option and fewer items that were basically the same.

Mass Effect 3 had worse textures in some parts
I just want Mass Effect 1 with Mass Effect 3 gameplay. That will never happen though, begging on the forums isn't gonna do anything. Remaking ME1 would take too much time.

The engine from ME1 is the same engine used in ME2 and ME3 (Unreal 3), its just been tweeked, poor quailty textures have little to do with the engine but rather how they were made.

That's exactly what I want. But at least asking and making sure it's known that, yes, I would be happy to pay for such an effort, is better than doing nothing and just hoping they guess what I want.

Didn't realize they were the same engine. Either way, updating the gameplay/combat mechanics alone would go a very long way toward reaching this goal.
