Look, if you have fun doing this, then more power to you.  But I just don't get this claim that it requires a lot of skill.  Or any skill for that matter.  Do the people claiming this really believe it?

Not that I'm disputing your main point, but what in this game requires skill???  I keep hearing that stupid **** and it's as though people have never touched a shooter before.  This is not a skill based shooter.  Sniping is not hard.  Nor is using shotguns, pistols, etc.

Harder than shooting something in the face with a Claymore. And I say that as someone with an insatiable love of shooting things in the face with a Claymore.

I find sniping impractical in this game--what with the screen shaking all the time and the constant need to quickscope enemies in close quarters--but I wouldn't call it easy. Those who can pull it off, more power to you.

It doesn't require skill. Then again this whole game doesn't require skill.

the game does require skill. most the skill is associated with understanding the actual game instead of fast reactions and pointing a gun, but it still requires skill

Ever tried to nail a target the visual size of your thumbnail at +200m? WHILE the target is moving erraticly?

You'd be surprised at how many people can't even hit anything beyond 50m.

You have fun with your biotic guided missles. I'm going to go hone my sharpshooting skills.

Seriously man, that was unneccessary and beneath you.  By and large you've been pretty cool and amusing, that was not.

If the player can't revive people, help with objectives or even get to the extraction point, then I can't care less about how many enemies he/she shot in the face during that match.

Fair point, though when capturing an objective and a Phantom wanders near and her head pops like a melon from a Widow, would you hold it against them?:P

Your situation would describe the "lone wolf" sniper which is the wrong way to play it.  A proper sniper should cover their team and watch their backs while providing the critical scalpel strikes to potent enemies.

You kill AI in Mass Effect's multiplayer, and the score doesn't mean anything when playing the aforementioned multiplayer.

What exactly is bothering you again?

It's no rifle.

It's an RPG.

It's my perception that sniping with an infiltrator requires less skill because the player really doesn't have to risk being harmed.  The non-infiltrator squadmates draw all the attention, and the potential damage, thus they need to use significantly more defensive tactics than someone that is invisible.  The invisible sniper generally stays out of harm's way.

You have to aim well do to well. Duh.

But I guess spamming auto-aim powers requires more skill. Not.

Well, I think that falls under the category of helping with objectives.

how is "quick scoping" skill when there is an auto aim feature

Auto aim is more of a hindrance in this game though. I will be mostly looking at an enemy twenty feet away, zoom, and the stupid thing targets a swarmer across the map instead.

By the way, when you're looking to get the highest score in a very competitive manner, I think you're playing the wrong game.

I suggest you read the site rules, item #3.  And yes, I did report your post because it was racist and offensive and has no place on this forum.

You have to aim the AA's powers too. And lots of enemies dodge them the first time on gold. Considering the fact that you are flimsy too with weak health/sheilds its different than hiding with a tac cloak and pop shotting enemies from across the map.

Cos you have to aim? That's like how sniping works in any game with snipers, not just the ones where the sniper can become invisible like Crysis.

I mean... aiming is a skill isn't it? Thats why sports like archery and shooting exist in real life?

I dunno this sort of thing is very tacit, the notion of "skill" hard to describe tbh. You should try it for yourself and see whether it truly is as trivial and elementary as you may believe.

Adepts, Infiltrators, whatever. I love you guys.

it's easier to avoid the biotic batman jiggles by sitting even father back and to the side and also you can head shot with SR when they are real close, let them walk into your site and pull the trigger, no need to zoom
