So far this is what I've heard (Main points):
- Will be based in Orlais (whether you travel around like in DAO or stay in one place most of the time like in DA2 Idon't know. But I think it's obvious which one people would prefer).
- Two party members include a grey warden and a seeker.
- More equipment customizing for party members.

I'm sure a lot of you already know this though :)

As for ideas for DA3 i would like to see:
- Games imported from DAO and DA2 make a real impact on the game.
- Perhaps a slower combat speed for warriors and maybe rouges.
And most importantly A BETTER STORYLINE THAN DA2!!!!! among other things

Does anyone know when DA3 is set?? or has it not been mentioned at all?

The Grey Warden and the Seeker were just models used to illustrate a point.

One rumour I heard was that Regalyn from Rise of the Seeker will be in the next game.

Some guy on these boards keeps spouting a rumour that Flemeth killed the Warden and Hawke, which is the reason for their disappearance, and this will be canon in DA3.

So the Grey Warden and the Seeker won't be in the game? By the sound of it I assumed they would be.

It has not been officially announced yet, so it's still a surprise when it will be released.

Mike Laidlaw strongly suggested that both a seeker and a GW would be in the party. If you listen to how it was said during the panel it would be weird of them not to be included...

i'm betting on either Rhys and/or Evangeline to be part of DA3, possibly as party members.

I know that, what I meant was what time period is DA3 set in. Is it straight after DA2 or what?

Most likely it will be released either spring or late 2013.

They could really draw from both games but they should have never removed the RPG elements that made DA origins amazing to fans.

The reason why a lot of people said DA2 was crap, is because they were mislead and deceived to believe DA2 was a sequel to DAO which was much more true to the RPG genre. DA2 is a purely Action game sprinkled with RPG elements.

The outcry is no doubt to the fact that there is a lacking genre of RPG where so called "modern RPG's" are actually like just action games. RPG's everywhere are turning to action and turning away from tactics, gripping story... Like it dumbfounds me how they could give up on a story as epic as DAO trash it, when there was sooo much hot speculation over the baby you made in DAO why didn't they make it a true sequel WTF the profits would have been enormous!!!

Nothing is left for fans such as myself and DAO fans when there is no genre we can turn to anymore without feeling empty or betrayed.

DA2 IMHO was great for an action game (one of my favorite) but its not the type of RPG game I'm looking for.

I want text dialogue choices, real story stem choices, tactical combat with some or little action based button mashing, advanced companion AI choices etc etc.

If Dragon Age Origins and Skyrim were to combine into like some sort of frankenstiened baby, or like morrigan's never seen baby :P all their best elements we would have the RPG genre back at the same time as pleasing action gaming fans. In dragon age origins you could be lazy with combat tactics if your more into action gaming or you could be overly obsessed putting it on the hardest setting without cheesing the forcefield and have a real battle.

Imagine open worlds, real tactics, lasting battles, choice of play, lovable non annoying companions that can be pushed out the way. A game that requires no modding and mods to make it awesome. HARD-MODE gameplay where its impossible to cheese things out and become invincible, but possible to win those big daunting battles on the edge of your seat with 1-10 health points left, and a few actually dead companions non resurrectable so have to cope with loss lol.

I say bring back the true RPG and make it even better more exciting don't forget us RPG fans and give in to mass marketing or make a game that actually pleases us.

I think Bret Knowles knew how to make a RPG game Mike Laidley doesn't and hasn't shown us he can... yet... DA3 echo echo echo

I agree that the story in DAO was amazing and have know idea why they didn't follow it on in DA2. Even though I was disappointed with most parts of DA2 it was overall a good game in my opinion.

I actually like the idea of some of your companions dying based on the decisions you make throughout the game, they sort of did it in DAO but not as much in DA2.
They had a great storyline with morrigan's baby but threw it away in DA2, why??????

I just hope they focus more on what made DAO great than DA2. In my opinion what made DAO an amazing game was the variety of characters to be (elf, dwarf or human) and the variety of endings.

I hope Flemeth hasn't eaten them! She can bloody well cough them back up again if she has! LOL.

LOL. If she has,I assume we could be given a quest wherein we have to descend into the depths of Flemeth`s stomach and rummage around, only to find all those important people gone missing having a helluva party.      B)
There is an idea for the environment thread....

On a side note, fan rumours are entertaining and all,but that is all they are-rumours.
I would rather Bioware kept the identity of future companions under wraps.I like surprises. They are fun.

I hope Flemeth did deep throat those suckers, I want a new beginning. Would like to see my main attachments from DAO brought back, give me the kid I made in DAO as a party companion, that can also turn into a drake, and atleast give me something from DA2, it doesn't has to be perfectly to my save just something.

According to Jennifer Hepler's post in the BioWare Blog, DA3 is on the cusp between pre-production and production. That means that while every detail of the game has not yet been hammered out, the major plot lines are in place and they're making the transition from outlines to dialogue.

Please, EA, give them time to do it right. Please, BioWare, take it if it's offered. DA2 was not a bad game, but a lot of the quests felt as if they needed that last bit of polish. For example, Best Served Cold made little sense if your PC was supporting the mages all along. Companion dialogues contained awkward moments when the follower referenced events that did not occur or opinions the protagonist never claimed to hold. Aveline mentions "Sunshine" when Bethany died before Varric met her, rivalry Anders thinks the PC favors templars even when the issue is Justice, etc. Better continuity would be nice.

I was so gung ho about game imports until I realized it's not going to be done well in my lifetime. If we were carrying over a protagonist and relationships, I would still say yes, but as it is, there are so many different variables available that what carries over will be half-assed and unremarkable.

In this case, I would completely prefer that they scrap game imports altoghether in favor of a predetermined history choice like they have for non-import games. This will reduce the number of variables they need to account for and allow them to craft a better, tighter narrative with more meaningful cameos where relevant.

- Perhaps a slower combat speed for warriors and maybe rouges.

Sure, but if they bring back the constipated shuffle poke from Origins, that's about ten steps backwards. Rogues should still feel faster - DA2 wins in this category, even if it wasn't perfect.

Subjective. I thought the story in DA2 was mostly great. It fell apart at the end, but the ride was terrific. If they had written and developed it for another 6-12 months, the game would have been a goddamn triumph.

I would suggest they just keep on keepin' on. Dragon Age has yet to disappoint me storywise, and I'm excited for what they come up with.

I hope that they don't bring in a competitive multiplayer. Completely agree with what some people have said keep it an immersive single player game. co-op would not be the greatest defeats the challenge in beating the monsters or other challenges.

One thing I ask is that they go back to DA:O model for the darkspawn. The DA2 models were highly disappointing. Course this isn't a very "story line" reply but I just wanted to put that out there...

I've never gotten the DA2 Darkspawn hate. In Origins Hurlocks were humans with a skin condition and genlocks were dwarves with a skin condition. Hurlock Alpha's looked a little stupid but Genlock Alpha's looked awesome. To me anyway. Overall I prefer DA2's Darkspawn, 'specially with the Legacy additions.

I heard a rumour that Dragon Age 3 is going to be an MMORPG.

If that rumour is found to be untrue, I have an idea. Make Dragon Age 3 an MMORPG.

Discuss.

It should be a PVP - MMORPG. And scamming and griefing should be fully allowed.

PvP is for Call of Duty fans and griefing is for losers.

It's all about character interaction.

I imagine a dialog system like that in TOR's, except expanded to include player-on-player cinematic romance. You choose a dialog option, the game rolls for intiative and whoever wins the roll gets to advance the cinematic ranging from hugs and kisses, to fully blown exhibitionist S&M. Just like D&D, so the RPG fans would be happy!

It would satisfy all of BioWare's core fans.
