I wasn't sure where to put this so here it is.
I'm going insane trying to find where I can buy, or rent, Dawn of the Seeker so I can see it. I've tried every website I know that sells DVDs and Blu-Rays and I came up with imports, which isn't and option for me. This isn't even available on PSN or XBLA, even thoug it is in America. The free theme for PS3 isn't even there.
So is this thing just not coming out in the UK at all? Even digitally? Is this a rights issue? Don't they own it and could just release it? Is the any news on this front? What's going on? Will we never get it or is it a delayed release for other territories? I'm petty annoyed by this as I'm a huge Dragon Age fan and this is something I was really looking forward to and with no idea it wouldn't be available I am now bitterly disappointed and deeply frustrated by my search.
Any information is still information so where as I'll be rather annoyed by a "it's never coming out, get over it" style response I'll take it at this point.

Am really keen to follow this. I've asked quite a few times via BWN, Facebook and Twitter and have heard nothing. I could buy the region 1 version on Amazon but its a bit more than I'm willing to pay if it's going to eventually be released here. But, like you, if they'd just say it will never have a region 2 release I'd just bite the bullet and pay.

I don't even know if it's supposed to have a release date in Europe...
I'm annoyed as well , and I think we're not the only one Browncoat Grimm .:)
After talking with BrushYourTeeth (forum member ) i decided to give it a try , and i only found the dvd on US amazon. It's not really expensive if you can wait a few weeks...and if you can play the dvd/blu ray despite the Region restriction thing.
It would be nice , for us poor europeans ,if a Mod would give us a clue about what we can expect on the european Market ^^

I've tried tweeting @bioware, @dragonage and @dragonagemovie a few time and got no replies either.

I do agree with both of you, while getting the US version would be inconvenient I'd also take the bullet and get it from Amazon.com, I believe they'll post to the UK.

the DVD/Blue-ray was only released in North America and Japan.
if you are ok with a digital copy, you can purchase it on zune.net for 800 MS points
That's how I got it

I've asked various Funi/BW/EA channels about this over the last few weeks and got no reply at all. According to some of the BW support staff though, it IS going to be released over here at some point. But there's no details on that, so who knows when we'll actually get some kind of estimated release date. I'm sort of wondering if they've decided to do a UK-and-Europe-wide release and thus the delay is to do with sorting out the Spanish/German/Italian subs and/or dubs.

If that's the case I can understand but the sheer lack of information is utterly bewildering, did no one at Funimation or BioWare think we'd be just a little bit curious when we couldn't find it?

I'd also really like to see this. This is the sort of thing iTunes might eventually have for sale?

Bang on guys. I don't know why it would be hard to just answer at least one of us so we can make an informed decision. Just tell me yunno, so I can either order it from Amazon or hold off...

Just wanted to bump this to let everyone know that the price of Dawn of the Seeker is (slowly...) coming down on Amazon marketplace. This time last week it was £20 plus P&P and now the new ones are £15.17 plus P&P. I'm going to hang off for the time being but it looks like it should be a reasonable price quite soon as long as you have a multiregion DVD player. And if you don't but want to know how to make your DVD play all regions, just send me a quick message.

The Amazon UK page for the DotS Blu-ray Import has a thing on it that says:

Amazon.co.uk’s choice for film and TV series rental has over 70,000 titles, including thousands to watch online - search LOVEFiLM for titles. Enjoy a 30-day free trial and a £15 Amazon.co.uk gift certificate if you become a paying member. Learn more at LOVEFiLM.com.

If all you're concerned with is just watching it once (perhaps before making a more expensive purchase decision), I hope that helps...

EDIT...
Actually, I went there just now and the movie isn't even listed on the site, so... bleh. That totally sucks. :pinched:

Hi, I had a look round on the tinternet and found a pic of the back of the Blu-Ray version which says it works in regions A and B.

cdn3a.dvdempire.org/products/46/1604646bh.jpg

This version is only £9-10 from Amazon.com, when/if it comes out in Britain I doubt it will be any cheaper.

EDIT- Sorry, just read your post again, you said impoting wasn't an option for you, can I ask why? I've ordered stuff from Amazon.com before and never had any problems.

It was purely a region coding issue as to why I couldn't import, if it's fine for my region I'll go order it. Still pretty annoyed at BioWare's radio silence regarding this though.

I doubt if Funimation would be much help- probably better to speak to a UK anime label (such as Manga) to see if they would get the rights

Is this solved yet? I want the blu-ray, not the dvd, but amazon only sells it as a US imported version which says it's for region 1

The DVD is now released in the UK (from Entertainment one)
I don't know what the blu-ray situation is
