Because it's expensive too do so. I don't really play silver much anymore because the equipment used for that mission costs more than what the mission pays.

If I'm going to a gold public lobby (which I very rarely do), then I don't use them on the first attempt as I don't know the quality of the team. I don't see any point in using a bunch of consumable stuff if the team is just going to try to run around by themselves and **** up spawns and refuse to medigel and etc.

If I know my team is decent then I'll use them.

I'd use alot more than I do if I had larger limits I'll tell you that. I have played some silver and very little gold but my limits are still low. I have 75 or something ammo packs but can only use 3 per match.

There is really no good reason to not use consumables. They get replenished with the packs, and there is no inherent benefit to saving them.

Yeah, it's called having that last medi-gel for when I'm the last guy left on the map with 10 seconds to go on wave 10.

Still super expensive, I usually get around 70k, That's what, 37k per gold match I earn? Not worth it, just play Silver and horde the consumables instead.

you will eventually have to use the consumables anyways...once they reach 255 its kinda pointless to keep stacking them up...since after every match they will be reset

Burn all 5 Medigel? That's 33k to replace. That's nearly half of what you get for Gold.
Minimizing use of them cuts your expenses enormously and lets you dump more money into PSPs instead.

Consumables are expensive. Nevertheless, I use them when needed.

However, since I'm usually the only one who isn't cheap I choose to wipe/bleed out immediately after money rounds rather than carry the cheap & lazy randoms. If it's round 8 and the team is doing well, then I might medigel. Round 9, I'll try to carry. Round 10, I make sure to get the cash no matter what.

The only reason I don't use an expendable is not using a weapon type in general. I have 60 + rail III, even more smg. I have scads of ammo warp and strength and accuracy armor consumables. Since my pistol and incinerate at very low I ration them. So if I join a lobby I generally now only equip the gear. Especially if there is a dodgy player in lobby. I'm not fond of carrying pugs. However if they are sponge worthy I will use consummables.

Must be for the same reason some people get downed on wave 10 and bleed out instead of using a medigel to get up and help the team. Secrets of mankind that we will never know...

I'm aways using consumables, and I buy JEPs every third gold match or so at minimum.

You need an Armor Bonus, Ammo Bonus, Rail Amp, 5 Missiles, 5 Medi-Gel, 5 Ops Survival Packs, and 5 Thermal Clip Packs to clear one Silver game?

No, actually, the thing is, most of the JEP is pretty much worthless, especially because of the randomness involved. Largely, people will be buying them solely for the 5 Medigel, Ops Packs, or Missiles.
