For Xbox360/PS3 owners like myself, that is.  I wish I could build a new pc to take advantage of the mods, but unfortunately, that's not an option anymore.

Anyways, shapeshiftters are weak!  I've been playing one for the past few days, and people weren't joking when they said it was the worst specialization in the game.  I had to tone down the difficulty to Hard, simply because anything harder meant I was having to stay in human form the whole time and what's the point of playing a shifter if you don't shift?

They need, in my opinion, three things--

--Instant--or faster--shifting.  Isn't DA in part a spiritual successor to BG2?  The transformations there were instant, and in some cases, were actually useful (Avenger spider).  Instant shifting would mean more tactical options for shifters, more than just 'cast some aoe's, shift, overwhelm.'  If you shift out to heal right now, it means you're stuck in human form for the duration of the fight because trying to shift back will mean someone might die, even with another healer in the party.

--An ability like Combat Magic.  I've heard that the forms use Magic to determine their damage, but if so, the stat's contribution to animal forms' damage must be very negligible.  Let us use Magic, yes, and make it more noticeable!  Considering how destructive/resilient Arcane Warriors can be, surely letting animal forms do some damage wouldn't be bad.

--Some shapeshifter gear!  Blood mages and Arcane warriors get robes and rings for one and a dedicated Spellweaver blade for another.  Perhaps, a staff that DOES let you shift instantly.  Or a great robe, a cloak of the woodlands, whatever.

Georg talked about looking into the issue at some point I think so that's at least some hope. Not that his interest alone is a guarantee for anything official.

I think that ShapeShifters have a ton of potential if buffed properly. By that I mean improved by the Devs, not party spells.

For example, make a Master Shapeshifter receive a bonus shapeshift based on whichever other subclass they get. A SS/AW could get a special shapeshift, a SS/BM could get a special shapeshift, etc. Also, give them a shapeshift based on whichever school they complete (if applicable.) That is, if a Master Shapeshifter completes the entire entropy magic tree, they get a special "death magic" form, etc.

Then again, they're probably just going to take the shortcut and make the shapes instant cast with extra damage and armor, and they'll still be useless. Well, other than the insects, at least that one has a use.
