same here. so many bugs in this game. almost plays like those old shareware demos you would get in a pc magazine back in the day. i like the game and all but wow, you would think they would fix some of these bugs sooner.

Yea this bug along with the loot taking forever to show up the longer you play without restarting the game really get on my nerves. Hope the upcoming patch fixes them.

Could the reason why you don't get anything be that the most characters don't have anything you can take? "Success" might only mean that you weren't spotted.

If there was nothing for me to steal from that person, then I'd get a message 'Nothing to Steal'. Since I'm not getting that, it means that they do have something to steal, but it's not showing up in my inventory. In fact, it's the same way when you ask Dog to fetch something and you get the message 'You got an Item!' If you check your inventory, nothing has actually been added.
The only time I've ever gotten anything from a random person on the street is when it actually pops up with a 'recieved x money' message. Other than that, you have to target specific people. For example, I got a Hardy Belt from the Ostagar Quartermaster, and an Imperium Crossbow from the merchant in Lothering who asks you to help get rid of the people who are bugging him about his prices. The entire problem is, if I'm going to have the Stealing skill, I'm going to use it on everybody, not just a few specific people. Having a skill just to use on 6 people across the whole of Ferelden is stupid.

Agreed. I get annoyed at that Stealing Success and not actually getting anything, not even a few coins. If you're going to say it's a success but not give us items or coins at least give us a few XP for each unique pickpocket we succeed at
