Yes, it is. I believe you have to buy some action figures to get the code to unlock it.


Or is that the Collector rifle? Don't remember.

Old news.

Particle is probably planned in the new future, but its appearance in the gamerinformer vid is probably an accidental dev build leak.

EDIT: or maybe theres some action figure out there with the code, but it's not in the manifest yet.

Well, it shows up on the manifest under the promotional weapons, though I've never seen one in-game.

Or is this different from the collector rifle?

Err, never mind, guess it is, since the collector one just shoots bio pellets or some such.

I don't know about the "dev build", but the MP files for the Prothean PR are definitely present on my hard disk(after installing last DLC):

is there an old future? 

it might be in the game. im pretty sure the proton pack is in the game too.

It was in the preview version of the dlc but BW removed it from the release version. And the thing in the manifest is the collectors rifle, not the particle one. I'm too lazy to search the thread, but you may find it somewhere in the forum

 That sure looks like the Prothean rifle Javik has and not the Collector rifle.  If you watch the vid posted previously at 4:12 it sure looks like the one you can use in SP below.

There's also no Salarian or Batarian upgrade even though we have weapons made by those races. It's likely because there's only one of each made by those races for now. Disciple, Scorpion and Kishock are it for them, while the Turians, Quarians and Krogans each have two (Phaeston, Krysae, Arc Pistol, Reegar, Graal, Striker), the Geth have 4 (Shotgun, Rifle, SMG, Javelin), Cerberus and Alliance have a bunch.

I don't think we'll ever get the particle rifle for multiplayer. A gun with unlimited ammo would make every other assault rifle, if not every other gun, obsolete. Unless they make it bounce off shielded/barriered/armored enemies and shoot yourself in the face, and give you an instant -200% cooldown by equipping it.

The Particle Rifle wastes ammo like crazy...probably at the same rate as the Reegar, so i see why not...

and once you reach 0 the time you have to wait to shoot again is horrible
